California Passes Iraq Ballot Measure

August 29, 2007 by Sumo

legislature The Senate Bill (SB294) would ask voters whether President Bush should end the US occupation of Iraq and begin the “immediate, complete, safe and orderly withdrawal” of troops.

The California Assembly has approved the legislation on Monday to ask voters (that’s me!) whether they/I support ending the Iraq War and immediately withdrawing troops. Of course I support this…and it’s about time too. Arnie had better not screw this up for us.

The advisory measure by Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata previously passed the Senate, which is expected to concur in amendments Thursday and send the bill to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. The governor has not announced whether he will sign Senate Bill 924. I’ve got a feeling he won’t.

It’s a start. i’d feel a bit more comfy with the process if most folks weren’t using Diebold voting machines (and other similar products produced by bush partisans).

I don’t think CA, or the democrats, can keep up with Bush. Sure we could bring the troops home from Iraq, before we get the oil. Iraq is so last war. But what about Iran, who might be about to pay dearly, for Bush’s low popularity.

Bush says Iran’s active pursuit of technology that could lead to nuclear weapons threatens to put a region already known for instability and violence under the shadow of a nuclear holocaust. Iran’s actions threaten the security of nations everywhere.

My, my, a real life Don Quixote….

Paranoid Schizophrenics never run out of things to fear, or reasons to fear them. I’m surprised he didn’t conjure up ‘The Voices’ that he hears, to justify this position.

Shouldn’t Bush wait for Petraeus’ report before asking for another $50 Billion to maintain the “Surge”? He’s asking everyone else to withhold judgment until Petraeus makes his report. Of course, George Bush has the advantage of knowing what he’s told Petraeus to say.

Right on Earl! You’ve got that soooo on the mark! This guy just can’t help himself by now. There’s no other explanation. We know they think we are all stupid…that’s a given…but he shows that he isn’t paying attention to even himself. He can’t keep his own story straight or even keep up with all the baloney that he’s said in the past. He does come off sort of demented. He’s so unbelievable that he doesn’t even get IT! I guess they feel if they keep blabbing it out there long enough we will buy it. They’ve had too much of their own Kool-Aid!

Normal people would I think. We don’t have an otherwise motive for anything else. We want the killing to stop on all sides. We aren’t worried about the money that country can generate for us. That belongs to the Iraq people…not America. I’ll be so angry with Arnie if he messes this up for us. I tired like hell to keep him out of office. I spoke to anyone who would listen to me. People are star struck…gag!
