"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."-Teddy Roosevelt

i don't think i will ever forget how it felt to see the people of new orleans abandoned by our government, by the most powerful nation on earth. just left behind. i have chills ~ not the good kind ~ writing that.

i had what we call a "psychic change" in AA ~ a complete rearrangement of thoughts, attitudes, actions. only this wasn't positive. what i realized then, watching my fellow citizens abandoned by the government of george bush, was that we, the american people, count for nothing in this corporate-owned nation.

we are nothing. our lives have no value. they're not worth saving. they're not worth working for diplomatic solutions to world problems when we can have a war instead. wars serve the dual purpose of enriching the corporate war machine and letting us have at the spoils of war, in this case oil.

i got pissed. i was enraged. it hasn't diminished. when i hear the talking heads blathering about how well mississippi is doing, how great haley barbour (R) is and ain't it grand that mississippi has managed to recover so well, i want to scream. white republican mississippi, with less damage from the storm, got way more money to recover from it.

this is not my country. i don't recognize it. we must, must, must continue to fight these thugs but it is so very tiring at times.

...Just in from the waste land that is bakersfield.com. I did a simple post, asking for a moment of silence fo all we lost, and then said we should be ashamed, two beautiful youtube clips...and all hell broke lose. The most bigoted, hateful small minded words I have ever seen~ well till next time I can not even attack those folks because they have some sort of mental health problem, so all I can say is God(dess) bless New Orleans. And I told the sick ones, when it is their turn I hope help and a soft word comes to them.
