Iraq can have clean running water and electricity..for another 50 Billion American Bucks.

Of course we broke it, so we should fix it..right? From WaPo:
Since the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, the Bush administration has focused much of its $44.5 billion reconstruction plan on oil and electricity. Now, with the U.S.-led reconstruction phase nearing its close, Iraq will need to spend $27 billion more for its electrical system and $20 billion to $30 billion for oil infrastructure, according to estimates the Government Accountability Office collected from Iraqi and U.S. officials.
And..if that doesn’t ruin your day…check out this proposed timeline:
Even with the funding, the GAO notes that it could take until 2015 for Iraq to produce 6 million barrels of oil a day and have enough electricity to meet demand. A commanding general of the Army Corps of Engineers says it could have enough electricity sooner — 2010 to 2013.
By all means gents..get those Oil Wells PUMPING!!!! Because if you don’t get the citizens of Iraq some clean water and electricity you won’t have anyone to work those fucking wells or anywhere within the oil ‘bidness’ in Iraq.

This ranks just below the outrage of the death and disruption of the lives of thousands of Iraqis. For all the money pissed away on the restoration of the so-called infrastructure, the folks in Baghdad still only have an hour of electricity a day, sporadic water, etc.
Bechtel, be damned!
I thought this business was supposed to be taken care of years ago! Oh, I know it wasn’t…but they gave us a load here in the US about restoring the infrastructure of Iraq like it was an important “must do” thing. Just so crammed full of lies our administration is…nothing surprises me anymore…almost anyway!
Lulu..the wasted money is the whole crux of this situation for me. I want to rebuild the infrastructure we destroyed..I think we should demand it..
But that said..if we are only adding more money into the pockets of the corrupt Iraqi’s and contractors..whats the fucking use?
Sumo, I don’t think one thing is rebuilt/working that we destroyed.
Wait until we go to war with Iran than oil will become a luxury for us and the rest of the world who use it as gasoline to fuel are automobiles.
These war criminals in the peoples house need to be rendered immediately to the Hague to stand trial for their War Crimes.
If not than World War III will become a full reality and one that we need not go down this road to destruction. And that’s only if the World stands up and issues arrest warrants and files charges as they are obligated too under the Geneva Conventions and International Law.
Otherwise we may very well see mushroom clouds over many of our cities.
God Bless.
