Two Blasts In Pakistan…Are We Surprised?

Two Blasts In Pakistan…Are We Surprised?

Well…it seems that Pakistan has entered the fray of innocent people being bombed into oblivion. I personally have my opinions as to what could be behind it…but that is another blog for another time. It happened in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, killing 24 people and wounding 66. It took place on a bus carrying government workers, killing at least 15. Minutes later a motorcycle bomb exploded killing several others. Officials believe the bus was targeted because it carried Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission employees.

A military spokesman said it was terrorism because innocent people were killed in both blasts. It happened in the Qassim market area. The explosive was on board the bus itself. They feel it was a target because there was a large military presence which made it a high profile target.

Casualties could have been much higher if it were not for the rain. Most people were indoors at the time because of the weather. The bus was completely destroyed with the horrific scene of mutilation all over the street. It of course was a terrible scene as human parts were scattered across the road and blood everywhere. The second blast was a few miles away in another market in the city. No one immediately claimed responsibility for either bombing. Pakistan has been dealing with attacks in retaliation because Pervez Musharraf stopped and uprising of armed Islamic students at Islamabad’s Red Mosque in July. So this will be another reason that we will have to stay in Iraq to quell more terrorists…well… they’ve been there all along…but somehow the fact was overlooked it seems…(cough!)…
