I think it's safe to assume that Abe is not pleased by what he sees in today's society. From the condition of the country, to our almost constant war and fear mongering, to the way we treat the people we consider "below" us, to the resurgency of racism and bigotry, Uncle Abe finds himself watching repeats of History's greatest and often bloodiest blunders. Only George W. Bush and his mindless minions could find a way to combine the absolute incompetency of Coolidge and Hoover; the racism and bigotry of Adolf Hitler; the foreign policies of Facist Italy and Nazi Germany; and the political tactics of Joe McCarthy. "I don't understand," Abe said throughout these interviews, "why the Democrats are so reluctant to use the word that best describes George W. Bush and his entire Administration--'evil.'"

We would hardly disagree. And to make matters worse, we have pure, evil incarnate trying to paint its ciritcs as evil, unpatriotic, or Unamerican. Now beat that for utter hypcrisy.

We may be back with another series, or at least a lnegthy article. This one would cover the McCarthy Era and the similarities between then and now and how the GOPigs smear their opponents. We're lucky because at Abe's age he feels as if he has earned the right to ramble and go off on tangents from time to time, and very often the tangents provide us with material for at least inspiration for new articles. Another possibility is a comparison between how Kennedy handled the Cuban Missile Crisis and how Bush handles everything through violence and violence only.

These are indeed scary, scary times.

All that said w never realized how much we missed Abe's input until we began these articles. When the ministrokes deprived him of some vision and when the arthritis became so bad that he could hardly type or hold a pen both he, and the rest of us assumed that he was finished with blogging for good. Now he feels as if he's back in the flow of things and if we set the fonts to large print he is actually able to read what we're up to and offers advice from the sidelines these days.

I hate to speak for another person, but I suspect that he enjoyed contribting as much as you enjoyed reading. And I'm sure that he won't mind if I thank all of your for your kind words regarding his input here.

Peace, Donatra.

My thanks also! You guys really know how to get to the heart of the matter. I absolutely loved the reference to Bush as...out Hovering Hoover! Priceless indeed. This must be very distressing for Uncle Abe to live to see this come around full circle yet again in his lifetime...and worse this time. It probably causes him worry for his family. A person needs peace in their older years...I'm sorry that he has to be aware of this sordid side of life thanks to our George and his minions.

This IS the worst part of our corrupt government in my humble opinion.

That these fuckwits talk about caring and yet fail to show one ounce of compassion for our military or their families is disgusting on every level.

Family Values my ass..its about greed and corruption with the neocons.

I hate for this series to end..I love it. Thank you all the members of your crew that worked on this wonderful series Donatra and Praterone.
