No More Mr. In the Wrong Place at the Wrong Time

September 12, 2007 by Lulu Maude

Having entered his request for the withdrawal of his guilty plea in Minneapolis, Senator Larry Craig unveiled evidence of his commitment to stay out of harm’s way in his flying future.

“I have taken steps to steer clear of police stings by purchasing a bit of technology which will, I think, keep me out of hot spots that undermine my commitment to family values,” the Senator said following a hearing to withdraw his plea.

“I of course support our law enforcement agencies in their effort to rid airports of sexual terrorism. We can do no less for the safety and security of our citizens in these troubling times.

“I simply do not wish to fall into scenarios that have nothing to do with my personal practices. It was particularly difficult to see the expression on Mitch McConnell’s face when he learned of my plea. Of course, it is generally disheartening to see any expression on McConnell’s face at any time. He is definitely not my type, or he wouldn’t be if I had a type, which of course I don’t.”

Senator Craig did not explain how his new headgear would keep him out of airport bathrooms, although members of the League against House Plant Abuse said that they would be filing a request for a restraining order with the court in the near future.

I need to get my hands on one of those there contraptions. I’m always having that same problem…um…no, not meeting strange men in public restrooms…I mean, running out of TP at the most unfortunate times…although, if I met a strange man in the bathroom…’cept for Denzel or Shamar Moore…who aren’t strange…anywhoo…where can a sister get her hands on that contraption (um…I mean the TP hat not the uh…). Oh, nevermind!

haha!!! love it. i am so offended that so much has been made of this fuckhead in his bathroom, while david vitter essentially got off the hook with a little “i’m so sorry.” it is, i think, the fact of one villain visiting prostitutes while the other was looking for a little man on man action. it is the entrenched homophobia of our society and the rethugs, especially, and it’s pissing me off.

what’s also pissing me off is the increasing use of the term “toe tapper” to refer to gays. that’s offensive and demeaning and it needs to stop.

damn, it’s a long way down to the ground from this great big high horse i find myself on this morning :-)
