get out and vote!
November 6, 2007 by Betmo
we live in a democratic republic- or we did prior to the hundreds of signing statements and craptastically corrupt, fascistic laws passed in the last 7 years. part of being a citizen in a democratic republic is voting. yep- while our beloved and tattered constitution is fairly vague about the ‘right to vote’ (except for men, black folks and women) it’s there. i saw it. remember- ‘all politics are local‘ so when you cast your vote for the various folks up for election or re-election- you are casting it for your country.

I’ll be multi-tasking, today. I will be hand delivering my mail-in ballot to one of the designated ballot boxes and then registering my new vehicle at the same time (since both activities will take place at the same location).
I should have mailed my ballot weeks ago, but there is only ONE question on it and it doesn’t really affect me or my family. It’s a school board question. Since we home-school, it just seems like a moot point. But, we are engaging in the exercise so that the state will not forget to send us our ballots in the next general election (especially since absentee will be the only way for SSG Dizzy to vote, next year).
This goes well with Angry Black Bitch’s post last week Betmo. Kudos chica
