Are you this committed to ending the war?

The folks in Olympia WA are and they proved it this past weekend by using civil disobedience. They are using the tactics we employed during the Vietnam War. Why doesn’t the peace movement now use them? Are people not as committed to ending BushCo’s wars now as we were during the Vietnam war?
This was gleaned from the good folks over at The Big Brass Blog. A huge thank you to them for putting it up..because I sure as hell wouldn’t of known about it if I depended on our MSM to give me real news. When I watched it all the emotions and pain came flooding back to me. How the cops beat me with their batons, spit on me, fired rubber bullets at us..but I would do it ALL again to see an end to this war, inspite of my blown discs..you can bet your sweet ass I would..why? Because I am that committed to ending this war.
We need to clog up their fucking courtrooms with protesters, with folks willing to use civil disobedience to get the word out…we need to do these things again..in every city and every state. But we won’t..
And thats so fucking pathetic to me.

Dusty, the simple fact of the matter is, people are NOT as committed to ending Chimpy’s Oedipal abomination in Iraq as they were ending Vietnam, and we both know why.
The people who enlist in the Armed Forces are mostly from disadvantaged backgrounds who see the military as a way to crawl out of the hole of poverty and dead-endedness that they grew up in (and I know precisely of what I speak, having been one of those people.) Joe and Jane Suburbia frankly do not give a damn how many of “those” people get blown up in Iraq, because they live in a socioeconomic strata that never brings them into contact with the polite people. In addition, Chimpy gets Beijing to finance his insanity, meaning that the yellow-magnet suburban types don’t even feel any of THAT pain.
You want this thing to end? Demand a return to the military draft, so Chip and Buffy’s mom and dad get to worry right along with the mothers and fathers of the volunteers. Insist that the damn thing be paid for by enacting a tax on what we went there for-gasoline. Then watch how fast the yellow-magnet types turn into peaceniks.

I agree JR that the draft would bring millions over to ‘our side’. That is why BushCo won’t start it up. The MSM doesn’t’ help when they sugar coat everything..and refuse to report on incidents like the one on this post..they are in bed with BushCo and I hope they end up in the same place in hell as he does.
I refuse to give up hope..when I do I am toast..
Thank you so much for stopping by and giving us your pov..I heart you for it!
