resistance is not futile

i have tooled around the internets over the weekend to see what i could see. i have been on a self imposed news blackout for quite some time- which means i scan the headlines only instead of seeking out more. i don’t need to see much more. don’t get me wrong- i think that it is imperative that the journalists do their jobs and hopefully bring back some investigative journalism- even if it has to be freelance. i doubt seriously that the fourth estate will ever recover. anyway, that isn’t my thought trail this time. i get the feeling that folks are in a quandary over what the hell to do about the current and future state of affairs we find ourselves in. i know i am. everyday, more and more corruption is exposed with little to no accountability- and it’s maddening. of course, we know in our deepest spots of the mind what we will have to do eventually- but what to do in the meantime? how does a country wrest back it’s democracy from the hands of the rich and the corporations? how does one take on city hall and win? yeah. i know. me too. no clue. i have no desire to end up on the subversives list and get carted off to a detention center. i mean first meter readers and now firefighters- on top of the cell phone tracking and warrantless wiretapping- what’s next- tasering motorists and protesters? oh wait. since we are now in a police state- with the police being trained like military- how are we going to fight back? conventional methods used in the past- protesting en masse, voting- have not worked. what can we, the people, in order to form a more perfect union, possibly do to end this march towards fascism?

I have spent years trying to alert people but no one of concequence will listen. It is too late to stop now as many factors around the world have been set in motion and everything is going according to plan for Bush.
it just dawned on me today that he is doing to the middle east what he is doing to us and the rest of the world. I just gave this to someone else so I still have it. No one will stop this we can only keep up our efforts and relax it is out of our control. At this point the entire world will have to take to the streets enmasse and that won’t happen. Divide and Conquer
Read this great post by John Good at Left in Aboit. What you just wrote, alluding to the revolution of 1776 could be a an act of treason. The wheels are in place, the prisons have been built, everything is in place to declare marshall law and hold no elections. The people have to rise up in some way shape or form. No one wants to be violent about it, but the corruption we are fighting have the guns and ammo and it is the power to do what they want as our Country looks on. Not even our Senators and Congress shout out or make much of a fuss. That is what is the most frightening.

well a draft might wake up the masses. not that i wish that. of course. We resist by creating our worlds and sharing with those in close proximity . We bolster eachother’s spirits. We face the truth squarely in its ugly face. We give ourselves time to grief and recoup in order to fight another day , and to not buy into bullshit EVER. We buy less, read more. We keep doing all the things we are all doing. The next great depression will NOT be televised, and its coming. We live simply, those with children teach them well - like so many of you do.
a broken spirit , can mend. Anger can be valuable energizer if channeled towards the real enemy and not one’s self. If our spirits did not experience low times, there could be no replenishment - its like the tides…and who with a sound mind and heart , who is witnessing all that going down , does not find themselves in overwelm periodically. - thats where the small vibrant local action comes in and bolsters..a new way to save heat, a new meal you can create for pennies. Small actions add up - and give at least a sm. sense of empowerment.
