Rachel Maddow rules!!

This video segment covers the MOST salient issues our day - What is governments function, why is it functioning the way it is..and a few other tidbits. Its just a fantastic segment. Keith Olbermann what a voice for sanity. These two together in this - well just kick it out of the park.
Between her particularly fantastic gray suit her brilliant politics and take on things, her being out, she is on my list of big time heros. Its so refreshing to see her on Keith Olbermann more regularly. One great communicator. Makes me prouder still of our tribe and our allies. She knows the score big time, gets the big picture , connects the dots and Keith mentions Naomi Klein - score ! Both Rachel and of course Keith, have a high enough public profile to get the truth out there on the MSM,to the masses. People like them in the main stream, give me so much hope. Amy Goodman too of course, but reality is , too many people do not even know of the daily news hr called Democracy Now. Those who do know DM love it of course.

Lately, It seems that we may be approaching critical mass, ( wingnuts of course are hopeless) But - the Neo agenda is pretty much getting out there, and more republicans are realizing the party stands for either religious nutfuckery, radical free market profiteering, big time corruption , lying and of course fear mongering. People are seeng through the fear mongering as well. This is due very much to people like Rachel and Keith, telling the truth and telling it like it is..how refreshing. finally !
Now if republicans would only realize how they are being manipulated by the “big daddy protector” and the religious pandering, of their so called “strong” leaders; and that “trickle down” Reaganomics is actually lowering the standard of living for most people in this country , well maybe , just maybe we can return to a saner , more progressive, equitable country that puts the quality of American life first. As they say in the video, government can once again do what government is supposed to do, minus all the privatization and outsourcing of everything. We do need drastic and real change, put the “dream” back in reach through better domestic economic/social policies but the humanitarianism of America back on the charts. Restore some real morality if you will, social tolerance, personal civil rights and our constitutional rights. We could restore government accountability and the de politicizing of what should never have been politicized in the first place ….I can dream , in fact i gotta dream. It may be too late to stop this runaway train of empire, but we know we need a U turn in the direction we have been going. (think Kucinich, Edwards, Obama) must happen. Perhaps we crash and burn before we change as a nation , but having a map of where we need to go helps. Our system won’t sustain the status quo much longer. Real compassion is needed for the people living in the united states, especially our most vulnerable citizens. (which under the Neos’ is most of us) The uber rich have had their day and already robbed us as a country of so much. (so much distortion, disinformation, pre emptive war, unitary executive, a lying president, a junta really) Leaving the average citizen hung out to dry, due to economic policies that are designed only to enrich the very few. The statue of liberty surely weeps.
They (the neo con/libs of BOTH parties) have injected our culture with more cruelty and callousness devolving us with steps backwards vs. evolving further in the positive direction of higher principles such as those of Martin Luther King and other wise leaders.. And its all been soo damn Orwellian - decades now of insanity. And it does take its toll, literally in human lives both here and abroad. Its got to change. Clearly greed and lust for power fuels this regression. Can our country find a heart, an humanitarian moral compass ? I hope so.

Its all there in the Constitution, really. It does not take religion to do this, it takes common sense, simple expansive human compassion, are commitment to justice for all, remembering that all human kind is created equal , the basics. Just apply the basics, the rule of law, and continue expanding the Bill of Rights, as these fluid documents can meet the challenges of the 21st century, if not subverted by regressive mean spirited war mongering partisans as they have been for too too long now.
