Crystals bigger than humans?

I read about this several years ago in Smithsonian and it gave me the chills. Please follow the site for the story of how these massive underground caves were found . I dispaired of ever seeing them,yet some brave professional photographers did the near impossible.I added a “preview” photo to inspire those of you who do not click links…this one will be worth it. I was worried about protection of these natural wonders,but the story explains why we have more to fear than “they” do.

Thanks for that. I never heard about it before. Those are trully remarkable. I hope they are still preserved. I read the whole thing and I have to say I have never seen the likes of those before.
They are indeed Jim..it is 150 degrees and 100% humidity inside the cave,making human access very problomatic..the one guy who tried to go it alone was found baked inside the cave.
Many years ago, I was in college and took a geology class entitled, “Minnesota Rocks and Waters”. I was going to Lakewood Junior College for my associate degree and took this class as an elective, it sounded like fun. We went on quite a few field trips in this class. One of them was to an underground iron ore mine near the small towns of Tower and Sudan in Northern Minnesota.
We were taken on a tour like no other. Because we were students, we had access to many nooks and crannies and tunnels off the usual tour route. In one of these rooms, there was a crystal over six feet across. It was coming out of the ceiling. We went up a level in the mine using an access stairway. When we climbed up into the next chamber, there was the crystal, still rising. The top of it was never found and ended somewhere in the rock. The mine itself is over 1/2 mile deep.
I carry a crystal with me at all times. I energize it in the water of Lake Superior and let it stand in the sun for a couple of days. Rocks and stones are Grandmothers and Grandfathers. They have been around for all time and have seen everything that mankind has done. They hold all knowledge. All we need do is ask them and they’ll tell you what you need to know. Great Post!

Spadoman~ thats why it gave me chills,crystals speak to me,crazy as it sounds,I find them when they want to be found..this place is very special and I feared when man found it..it must hold all the worlds “magic”..I am glad for the internet,so i can “see” it.
