Since when does raising most money= winning.
Ron Paul comes off as a right wing nut job- and I have to ask the question…. Do we really want another Texas republican at the helm?
Have we learned nothing?

Dez, folks that support Ron Paul are quite adamant about it. I don’t wish them any ill will, but there is no way I can support a man that holds dear many of the neocon beliefs about social issues and social programs. His libertarianism is strong, to a fault in my opinion since there is no way I believe we should turn our backs on people that need help, or the right to choose regarding unwanted pregnancies.

My husband is a very big Ron Paul fan. We have had the pleasure of meeting him in person, a few years back at a Libertarian convention. When he decided to run for president, I decided to read his campaign site and decided that I could not support his candidacy, as a woman, because I kind of have a problem with a government, fed or state, telling me what I am allowed to do with my own womb. When I ask my husband what he thinks about overturning Roe v Wade, he literally turns his back on me, even when I ask him point-blank about how it may affect his own daughter. Ron Paul is a serious point of contention in our marriage. This is saying a lot, because for the past several years we have seen eye to eye politically. Right now, I’m personally leaning towards NOTA (none of the above). Even though my husband has already donated funds to Ron Paul’s campaign, I will withhold my support for any candidates until we get closer to the election. Paul is on my list because of his anti-war stance, but I’d sooner vote for Kucinich or Gravel because I like being able to decide for myself what to do with my own womb.

Obviously YOU Mr. Brodie didn’t watch the video where Ron Paul states we must overturn “that horrible law” Roe v. Wade, blathers on about how 9/11 would never of happened if we had more respect for the 2nd amendment (whatever that means) AND ticks off all the departments he wants to do away with in the federal government..

I didn’t make it up pal..he said it all himself IN the video. Suck it up and deal your man is a wingnut.

And who the fuck are you to tell me what I can and can not say on this blog? Arrogant asshole indeed.

How often do we have to correct the same misconceptions?! Paul takes no official position on abortion. Abortion legislation is not one of the enumerated powers that the Constitution authorizes the Federal government to concern itself with. Therefore Dr. Paul does not advocate either a “pro-choice” or a “pro-life” Federal law. He leaves such matters in the hands of the States, in accordance with the Tenth Article of the Bill of Rights.

Ron Paul has never said that airline passengers should be allowed to carry weapons. What he says is that airplane crew members should be able to carry weapons to protect themselves and their passengers.

And the Departments of the Federal government that he wants to abolish are those for which there is no Constitutional authorization.

If you have any cogent Constitutional arguments please favor us with them. If you have only meaningless epithets like “wingnut” please refrain from displaying your ignorance.

Paul is a wingnut that wants to outlaw abortion, thinks the passengers on the 9/11 airplanes should of all been armed and he wants to do away with just about every department within the federal government.

Thats a wingnut in my book.

I know what kind of politician Goldwater was and Paul is close but no cigar.
