Help the Judiciary Comm. IMPEACH CHENEY

December 18, 2007 by ProudProgressive

ny texan at Bluebloggin has a very detailed post up today, about what many of us want for Xmas. And how we can make it happen. Yes Virginia there is a Santa “clause” The post on BB has the same title as this one. It is a must read. - lots of case details, excepts etc. Now is absolutely the time for us to come to the aid of our Country.Henry Wexler, Tammy Baldwin and others at this time have over 89,000 signatures, on the on line petition. The House Judiciary Committee wanted to run op eds in major newspapers, across the country and were turned down ! ! ! - some free press eh ?
I remind everyone that Impeachment is not a constitutional crisis. NO , it is the only “medicine” built into the Constitution, for a constitutional crisis. Having a secret government, “a unitary executive” being lied into war, the loss of Habeas Corpus, The Patriot Act. - have subverted the foundations of our “great experiment” , our democracy.

These are just some of Constitutional crisis’s our country is undergoing. It is broken. IF we do not IMPEACH , our broken gov. will never have a chance to heal properly. Do not kid yourselves about this. No matter if elections are near, this must be addressed. A new president will do nothing but “mask” the damage done to our democracy by these unlawful rogues in our White House. The criminality, high crimes and misdemeanors they have apparently engaged in, demands that We the People, make our voices heard. By having our Representatives bring OUR grievances forward, please sign the petition and pass it along, Wexlerwantshearings.com, The committee is asking the NETROOTS to make this happen, as the major newspapers ARE CENSORING the OP ED the committee wanted to run. Dennis Kucinich is to be thanked as well , it is his resolution that they are working off of. But WE the PEOPLE , must MAKE them hear us. It is our Patriotic Duty to assert our WILL - so that all of us , of every political stripe can reside once again , in a healthy Democracy. The Country needs Impeachment Hearings , the wound must be lanced. Many Conservatives feel this way too. The process must happen. A house built on sand, will not endure. Sometimes the process is more important than the outcome. We needed to start the Impeachment hearing process a long time ago, it is not too late. We must help the few Statesmen we have left in the Congress. Begin it now

* update - the count is over 92 thousand and counting.

Thank you Dusty and company, Its so important to remember THIS is closer then we have EVER been HR 333 is in the Committee. We simply must overwelm Pelosi. If this does not happen , the democrat party will stand for EVEN LESS, then it already does. There is so much at stake here.

P2, I totally agree with you except that we can not control Pelosi. We have no avenues to do that. She will not allow HR 333 to reach the floor.

The Democraps in power have already shown us their ‘ass’ so to speak..they do not give one whit what the voters in america consider important. If they cared, they would of stood fast when BushCo wanted more money for his fucking wars. But they caved in and continue to do so daily.

But don’t be angry at me for my pessimist side ok? ;)

Psst: It is ROBERT Wexler, not Henry. Besides that I am ***giddy*** thinking that this glimmer of hope may come to fruition.
More than 120 members, predominantly Republicans, then switched their votes in favor of holding a one-hour debate on the issue, with a final vote of 251-162 supporting a debate on impeachment. Rather than allow a debate fraught with political risk, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) moved to send the Kucinich resolution to the Judiciary Committee, whose chairman, Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), has publicly speculated about impeaching the president or vice president but has declined taking any action since taking the gavel in January.

Defusing any chance of an actual impeachment debate, the House then voted 218-194 to send the motion to Conyers’s committee, with Democrats overwhelmingly supporting the move. The bill was initially hr 333, but is now H.R. 779.
