“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands in times of challenge and controversy.” Martin Luther King, Jr.
Now is their moment in history to stand up for Democracy, to restore the Constitution, and to tell future Presidents that we will no longer tolerate abuses of power and lying to take us into illegal wars and occupations. It is their moment to tell the world that no one in America is above the law.
The Judiciary Committee represents all of us, so they do not have the screeners like some of the Congress people. Email the Judiciary Committee: http://judiciary.house.gov/contact.aspx

Northwest Votes on H. Res 799

To refer to committee:

More info from Linda Boyd: Washington for Impeachment
Let’s look at what we gained today. First, Representatives had to go on public record. Second, impeachment was introduced to the floor of the House, putting the discourse where it belongs. Third, it was up on C-span for all the world to see, and reported in papers across the country.
* *Democratic members of the Judiciary committee with some level of
support for impeachment: Conyers, Baldwin, Scott, Watt, Jackson- Lee, Waters, Wexler, Cohen, Gutierrez, Sherman, Weiner, Davis,
Ellison.
****This is big — 65 Democrats who were not cosponsors of HRes. 333, but voted NOT to table the resolution. We can lobby them to cosponsor HRes. 333 or write their own Articles of Impeachment now : Abercrombie, Allen, Baca, Braley, Capps, Capuano, CONYERS, Crowley, Cummings, DeFazio, Dicks, Doggett, Doyle, Al Green, Gene, Grijalva, Gutierrez, Hare, Hinchey, Hirono, Hodes, Holt, Honda, Hooley, Inslee, Jackson (IL), Jones (OH), Kanjorski, Kapptur, Lewis (GA), Loebsack, Maloney, McCollum, Meeks, Michaud, Miller (NC), Moore (WI), Napolitano, Ortiz, Pallone, Pascrell, Perlmutter, Price, Rangel, RICHARDSON, Roybal-Allard, Rush, Scott, Serrano, Shea-Porter, Sherman, Slaughter, Solis, Stark, Stupak, Sutton, Thompson, Tierney, Towns, Valazquez, Watt, Weiner, Welch, WEXLER, Wu.
Nancy Pelosi was revealed as a divider of her party. Her coalition is strained. The Representatives know that 76% of Democrats favor impeachment.
John Conyers, chair of the Judiciary Committee, and committee members Robert Wexler, Gutierrez, Sherman, Scott, Watt, and Weiner, did not vote to table HRes. 333, a step in the right direction.
