Dizzy’s Ten Post Round-Up

Just gonna keep it simple, today.

That seems like something that is missing from my life right now: simplicity. Of course, that’s not going to change any time in the very near future, so long as SSG Dizzy is still doing the Iraq Deployment Shuffle.

Thankfully, I have music to keep me connected to my spiritual self. And, after two nights of listening to hard rock and hip-hop, it’s nice to settle down, the rest of the week, with some contemporary R&B and Neo-Soul.

I definitely need to go pick up a couple of new R&B CDs to add to my music collection. It’s inspiring to note that Chaka Khan has been making records (and looking like a “Bad Mamma Jamma”) for more than 30 years: Chaka Khan - Love You All My Lifetime. I hope I look nearly as good as she does when I hit my 50s…

Some days, I wish I lived in a GWB-style bubble, so I could pretend that life was still good despite the chaos that surrounds me. But, I find little joy in my own personal success, knowing so many people are suffering because of what our country’s leaders have been doing to us, lo, these past several years.
