Dear Taxpayer: Just spent $42 million of your money, to send you a little update that eventually we will send you the economy stimulus rebate money. Keep those taxes comin’~
Love, The IRS
The Department of Wasteful Redundancy reports:
Yes, the Internal Revenue Service is spending about $42 million (or more), to send 130 million households letters telling them a check will be issued later.
How fricking crazy is that?
Have they considered doing official press releases for free?

My $42 million dollar IRS letter arrived in the mail today. What a fucking waste. How many programs could desperately use $42 million bucks? Maye I’ll frame the bitch & make it an art piece. The header is in red ink! “Economic Stimulus Payment Notice”- what shall I title it? *Unstimulated* or how about $42 million dollar flush– I’m getting a great idea now….
Mount the thing in a frame with an actual toilet seat
kind of like a shadow box.
I dabble in statement piece art.
Sorry to put the kabosh on your buzz…. reality is annoying. As I wrote you the insertion was a kind of immaculate conception. Let us bow our heads….
