i don't know enough about MI-5 to comment, but I do know that there has been an egregious abuse of power, in service to a biased political agenda in almost every corner of the federal government together with a revocation of the civil liberties guaranteed by the constitution by a dishonest administration. All in the name of "national security" and executed in a an environment of fear mongering designed to foment distrust and hatred with no equivalent basis in fact. Thanks for your comment, Big Fella. Sometimes an agency has a hard time leaving a powerful legacy behind. Hoover’s power was misused for personal flawed reasons.I’m not convinced that we wouldn’t do better with an MI-5 British style domestic surveillance set-up, with strong civil liberties oversight.
