Congratulations Senator Obama !

June 3, 2008 by Fran

A great wave of happiness!

This is a heartwarming, historic event in our country, Senator Barack Obama has won the Democratic Nomination.
I do believe Obama will help heal the collective soul of this country.

If anything, this will be the end of an era of the two same families running the country for the last 20 years.

It is historic. I watched and listened intently to his speech. The 31,000 people there were all smiling and I found myself smiling too.

Hope the secret service is up to the task. That is my biggest worry. Not to rain on his parade but I do worry about that.

Why would I want to ruin a good thing by listening Cheryl Crow?

it was grand. and having watched john mccain’s stilted diatribe against obama about 90 minutes before, it is impossible to state strongly enough how dramatically different these two men are. unless mccain picks it up ~ and i honestly don’t think he can ~ he is, just in pictures, the promise of the same raggedy ass shit that’s brought us to this point. add to that his words, which hold nothing but a promise of another no lube ass fucking for the little people, and there’s not a soul on this planet who can find hope or inspiration in him except those who profit from the disaster that is republican rule.

obama’s fresh face, his hopeful vision for the country . . . it may be just words, but it is inspiration and that is what we need first beyond anything else. words inspire and lift us up and make us believe we can change things. we can, but it’s hard to believe it in george bush/john mccain’s america.

It was funny when they cut McCain off at 6:00 when the polls closed. No respect for our elders, lol!

Dusty~ History in the making & history I can relate to. Such an eloquent speaker & a humble soul.Obama is going to have to change his life around security issues- and it’s not terrorists I worry about, it’s some amerikkkan with not just prejudice, but psychosis.
Maybe I live in a bubble in a college town, where diversity stays at the forefront– but I cringe when the deamons of prejudice rear’s it’s ugly head.

Robb- Change would do you good

Belle~ I did not even listen to McSame- but the feedback is coming in loud & clear. He drew a whopping (& white) crowd of 600, while Obama had 17,000 inside & 15,000 outside. And yes, there is a grand canyon sized divide between the 2 candidates.
Mc Cain, McCan’t deliver anything new & has all the inspiration of a wet dishrag. He is tainted & a good ol’ boy with the ooberwealthy rich elite. He has not a clue, and worse the only thing he had going for him was his support & understanding of the troops/Vets issues, but he’s sold out, to be president. Forget the election- how about a winner takes all basketball game one on one?
As for Obama’s words– I actually appreciated the fact he did not yammer on a list of promises @ the podium. Go to you tube & have a listen to what G W Bush promsied in the pre election blather in 2000. Remember he was going to “restore intergity to the White House” post Clinton’s romp with Monica. There was a whole list of shit he promised & what he did was not only the exact opposite, but to an unprecidented extreme.
    Who was that guy?
Obama did spell put specifics & plans, without promising the moon & stars & being a big disappointment.
There is a lot of shit to fix & he is willing to try.
    Amen brother!
As for Hillary…. well shit….she & her baggage can step down. Of all the cards she’s played- it’s time for her to play the STFU card.

I want Obama to clean house and get some fresh minds in the White House.
