Fran, I sort of agree. Perhaps it would have been more accurate to describe the U.S./Iran situation as both being between a rock and a hard place. Iran does have to deal with sanctions, but they are managing. The U.S. has to deal with its own public opinion against making war with Iran, and we are managing (I hope) to keep Cheney’s thumb off the button. I’ll go for an ugh!, too.

Dusty, yes, Dems knew a lot along the way, and got fear mongered thoroughly enough, as well as “classified” enough to keep quiet. Plus, they didn’t have a majority to work with in Congress. Today, however, they still “cave” far too readily. I stay miffed at them much of the time.

Yea George, different rhetoric would have made this all better.

Ugh!

But that first aragraph– IRAN in HIS (bush’s) face?

I’m quite certain it is the other way around. (Frozen assets)!

I hoped that my choice of graphic would be ok. I try to find ones that illustrate the title or the gist of the post.

I believe that the Democrats are just as culpable as the Rethugs in these crimes..they knew what was going on, via secret updates from the Pentagon, and by allowing it are now part of the criminal process. We have learned already that plenty of high ranking Dem’s knew about torture and wiretapping before it became public knowledge.

Thanks Dusty, for your comment and for your welcome illustration to this post. I had come up empty. And a belated thanks to Fran for an earlier comment to which I never responded. This administration has been responsible for sewing death and destruction in its wake.
It is quite striking how little appetite our Congress has for doing its job of holding officials accountable. Do you suppose it is left over from from the Clinton impeachment debacle, or due to the demise of Special Prosecutors, or to something entirely different? I am clueless.

OCP needs to move to Bolivia when his term is over..I would hope that the next President would seriously consider the high crimes and misdemanors committed by this Administration.
