Now, THIS Is How The Girl Scouts Could REALLY Make Some Money!

July 18, 2008 by Dizzy Dezzi

Now, let me tell you, I am a huge fan of the Delites (aka Samoas) and SSG Dizzy is partial to the Thin Mints and I can tell you that the little Girl Scouts we know make a killing off of our household. But, I gotta say, I can definitely see how THIS could help out a whole lotta Girl Scouts:

Girl Scout Camp Marijuana Farm Busted

Police found the hidden marijuana farm with plants in various stages of cultivation in a wooded swampy area of Kosciusko County, according to documents filed Monday in U.S. District Court in South Bend. Some of the plants were growing on land belonging to a local resident, while the bulk - about 5,000 plants - were growing on camp land. State troopers in an airplane spotted the plots.

To be fair, no Girl Scouts or their leaders appear to be implicated in this pot bust, but sometimes we need some news that isn’t going to make us want to throw stones at our computers and I know many of us would rather be “stoned” than continue to contemplate the stuff that GWB and his cronies have set forth, for us. Maybe if the Girl Scouts sold some of those “Cheech and Chong Delightfuls”, it might go a long way to easing the nation’s suffering and help the nation’s girl scouts.

(Yes, yes, I know mary-jane is illegal and I am not advocating drugs as a means of escapism…jus’ trying to find a little levity as I distance myself from political blogging. I am burned out watching and writing about politics and I certainly could use some “Cheech and Chong Delightfuls” to chill me out.)

dez honey- i am right there whi’cha. we all need a break from the politics because we are so very involved. hubby and i were talking about how most folks are ‘too busy’ to make politics a priority- i mean to be fair i know many folks have lost homes, savings, cars, jobs, etc- but i think we are more political than most because we have had to become so. SOMEONE has to be- and it is us. i fall back on my environmental stuff because that’s where i am right now. it’s the only realm where i feel i can make a difference in my own life and hopefully pass some knowledge on to others. politics in this country- as with almost everything else- is horribly broken. the sad part is- americans as a whole have been checked out of the system for so long- i don’t think they know quite how to fix it.

anyway, my long winded response to your political blog burnout :) if you need anything, let me know. sometimes just taking some time rests the soul. :)

Dez~ Your suggestion for a new girl scout cookie recipie (I’m envisioning Sister Mary Elephant on the box cover) & something about Dave’s Not here…… would be a boon for the sprightly girl scouts…. maybe they can even patriotic them up & make ‘em red, white & blue…. stamp god bless america on each cookie.
I can see some scout thinking Damn! I should have taken that nature walk…. (and found the stash).

    Thanks, guys :)

Big Fella, thanks for the link and the smile. There are definitely some upsides to going green ;)

We’re apparently a nation of zombies, anyway. What’s a couple of boxes of “Delightfuls” gonna hurt it. It might chill a few more people out. We could use them in the WOT…the terrorists would be giving themselves up for some more munchies, dude!

I’m not really burned out by blogging, I’m just burned out by this hateful political cycle. With so many eating their own (Jesse Jackson vs Obama, for example), it makes it that much more depressing. I plan to change focus. There’s plenty of other news worth posting about (plenty of dumbasses and badasses out there that need exposure).

A blogger’s dream: writing about someone who is both a dumbass and a badass…
