McCains plan to help Big Oil…

Robert Borosage is a good man that writes for the LAT, WaPo and various other news organizations. He is a left-of-center kinda guy too. His latest article up on TomPaine/OurFuture is on McCain and his double talk express. From his article entitled The Audacity of Contempt:
Take gas prices, the most pressing issue on the minds of Americans. Offer a blatant ploy that in fact won’t help — but will profit Big Oil. Pocket over a million in contributions from oil executives and use the money to put up an ad promising to take on Big Oil.
Call it the audacity of contempt. Sen. John McCain seems intent on proving that it is possible to scorn Americans into voting for him. Consider McCain’s latest ad in the context of his “drill, drill, drill” energy policy.
John McCain hasn’t told the truth yet during this campaign silly season. He tosssed his longstanding anti-drilling pledge in the crapper. In June, McCain pocketed $1.2 million from TX Big Oil folks. Incidently that is when he changed his mind about offshore drilling. Interesting no?
Currently the right is sliming Obama about contributions from two Palestinians that are purported to be members of Hamas. Dirty tricks anyone?
