On Second Thought

September 3, 2008 by Spadoman

Make no mistake, those that committed violence against persons and/or property need to be arrested. But no person needs to be brutally pushed, shoved, stepped on and beaten to perform an arrest. There were NO reports of any weapons that were used against the police. The police, however, roughed up everyone they arrested. They even roughed up the people of the press when they unlawfully arrested them and that was caught on film. Go Democracy Now and view todays program. View Mondays program too. See what Democracy looks like on the streets of St. Paul. I dare you to view the report and say that those of the free press, with credentials in plain site, were treated as human beings that were innocent until found guilty by a jury of their peers. The police did an injustice to YOU, as these “local” cops were under jurisdiction of the gestappo-like auspices of the federal government.

The people who are protesting are not a corporation, they pay no lobbyists, they, or rather we, I, don’t have a voice in this so-called democracy. A letter written to an elected official is answered with a form letter with canned answers to concerns of the constituency, Republican or Democrat. The only voice we have is to go to the streets and say what we need to say. When many people feel the same way, so many so, that the masses assemble for one common cause, even then, sometimes change will occur, but there is no guarantee. This administration has made it a policy to not answer the peoples demands.

Since they don’t answer the peoples demands, they also do other things as they see fit. They have ruined the Constitution. They have illegally arrested people in what is called preemptive arrests, suspicion that the accused will cause a riot. What a bunch of shit and lies. And in my opinion, they do it and don’t care because they can get away with it. The action takes the left leaning journalists and film makers out of the loop for a while. After it’s over, the Republican administration appointed judicial will probably throw out charges against the police that committed the illegal acts. An honest judge might find the case for those illegally detained. The fine or damage is paid and the journalist is still off the streets for a while so the American public don’t get the true story, but rather the glossed over bought and paid for pablum fed to the masses by Faux news.

The arrests of the free press, as in the instance of Amy Goodman of Democracy Now and others, is a slam against every American. If it was happening to your side or in your town, you’d be more up in arms. I can’t believe what I’m seeing right here where I live. I didn’t sit idly by when things related to this RNC protest fiasco happened in other parts of the world. I protested, but I admit, being away from it is quite different than seeing it happen where you live.

I’m on a soapbox, as you can see, but there is no way that I can believe that this country will ever be the same. This is no Democracy right now. In a Democracy, the free press is allowed to document news as it happens. In a Democracy, non violent protesters that cross lines and commit civil disobedience are arrested, but not beaten into submission.

Would somebody please start the revolution, please. I’m getting old and I don’t have the energy to do it myself. Maybe a hunger strike. Maybe a boycott. How about a million people all at once to pick up the phone, every hour of every day, and demand justice.

Peace to All.

Your are a wonderful Patriot and American. We need more soapbox folks and our time is running out. I fear for our country if we get four more years of the same shit…seriously.
