What Bush Doctrine Did Charlie Want To Know About?
September 13, 2008 by Alien Trucker
The other night when Charlie Gibson was doing the first “interview” with Sarah Palin he asked about her knowledge of the “Bush Doctrine”. Folks were kinda disappointed in her evasive response . Much has been said about the lack of a real response, People on both sides of the proverbial fence have given a lot of opinion, none of which I agree much with. I have put some thought into her response…or lack of… and really don’t blame her for not saying much.
Is there really much the McCain campaign would want her to say? What good would her answers have done to her political run or her parties minute remaining credibility? Which “Bush Doctrine” would she have talked about anyway? There are so many.
I have a couple of “political analysists” who help me see the world in an open, brighter light. “CaptainKidd1953″ on the right and “Mahakala” on the left. Now these people aren’t big time newsies like Charlie nor are they politicians spewing party babble on a continuous basis. They are just hard working Americans who spend some of their free time discussing issues of the day on a forum I visit often. In one of the threads they were discussing this issue and both brought up some good points about Mr. Gibson’s vagueness of the doctrine he was asking about. There are so many Bush Doctrine’s to choose from.
Captain wondered, and I am quoting here;
“Which Bush Doctrine is that?
ECONOMY:
Cut taxes, import cheap foreign labor, expand NAFTA and drive wages down
FOREIGN POLICY:
Export his brand of democracy, overthrow governments, fight terrorism
CRIME:
Talk tough on drugs and pretend that illegal aliens employed by the Mexican Drug cartels aren’t growing weeds in our parks and shooting at tourists.
Pardon Scooter Libby; but not those Border Patrol agents who shot a smuggler in the azz, despite a deluge of requests from his friends in Congress.
HEALTH CARE:
Gives billions 0f $$$$ to fight AIDS in Africa but cut expenses at home.
Those George W Bush DOCTRINES are a train wreck. No wonder that everybody runs like HELL to get away from a failure…”
Yeah…I know I said CaptainKidd1953 is a right leaning man but even the right wing can begin to sound left when analyzing the follies of the current neocon administration. Besides…when I determine “Left” and “Right” in my own view I am probably all skewed up. Even the Revolutionary Communist Party is a right wing organization to me.
All of these are “Bush Doctrines”. Issues the American people should be more concerned with. Issues Charlie could have asked about specifically if the McCain campaign would have let him. The vague questions were asked to make it seem like an actual interview about the issues without requiring any real answers.
Mahakala responded to the Captains post with a few additions of his own. I quote him here;
“TAXES:
Cut them most for those who spend the LEAST percentage domestically so as to ship the MOST possible money out of the country, and then complain that the “recovery” is only short-term
BUDGET:
Stand in front of audiences making a two-faced pitch for “smaller government” while expanding it faster than any past president
TRADE:
Sit with your thumbs orificially ensconced while millions of jobs move overseas, and claim the economy is “great”"
I see these issues as just a small part of the REAL Bush Doctrine. Things that aren’t being talked about in the campaign. By either of the 2 party system’s candidates.
ISSUES PEOPLE. ISSUES!

Good Morning A.T.
The PNAC crowd wrote most of the Bush Doctrine I believe and therefore The Shrub really can not be blamed for its failures..or as the neocons say..its successes.
The Project for a New American Century has completed its job for the most part, and so they closed down their site a while back. I really had hoped that most of the folks that ascribe to those beliefs would be brought up on charges before a world court…but I really don’t think that will ever happen now.
The Bush Doctrine is the Doctrine of Destruction! The Russian’s first used it in the 1860s. It is used to destroy one order so you can “fix” everything by emplacing your new order. It is coming to a head very soon!
I am sickened that the complicit MSM does not take Palin or McCain to task on anything. The blatant lies are sickening!
Jims last blog post..The view highlighted McCain’s lies but that is worthless, someone must take him and Palin to task before it is too late!
I have to say, when that question was asked and she couldn’t search her shallow pool of knowledge to find a sufficient answer, the uncomfortableness that was present in the room she was in was literally palpable in my apartment. I sat there in the midst of my discomfort, similar to when you watch a contestant on American Idol perform really poorly and you actually pity them, wondering how we have come to a place where a Vice Presidential nominee isn’t aware of a foreign policy that the individual on the top of the ticket explicitly supports.
Alexs last blog post..There’s a vegan on A.N.T.M.!

She is an insult to Ameica! She doesn’t know shit only how to lie which is what Repugs need!
First, Palin set off alarm bells with her Iraq speech. The Washington Post wrote, “Gov. Sarah Palin linked the war in Iraq with the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks…a view once promoted by Bush administration officials [that] has since been rejected even by the president himself.”
Then, when ABC’s Charlie Gibson asked her opinion on the Bush Doctrine that led us to war in Iraq, it got worse. As the New York Times put it: “Palin most visibly stumbled when she was asked by Mr. Gibson if she agreed with the Bush doctrine. Ms. Palin did not seem to know what he was talking about. Mr. Gibson, sounding like an impatient teacher, informed her
Jims last blog post..I masturbated to Sarah Palin (McCain Ad), Ed Koch rightly says Palin scares the hell out of him, and Bill Clinton sees an Obama landslide as do I …
