Stop Being Uppity And Respect The Lady, Boy.

I lived in the southland for too long not to get the message from the McCain/Palin camps new ad “Disrespectful”. Having had a KKK family heritage and being a member myself in my ignorant youth I recognized the message right away. A black man has to “know his place”. It doesn’t matter if he wants to, but where a white woman is concerned he damn well better show her a little respect. Thats the attitude the new ad seems to have. McCain and company are sure playing to the folks in the white robes this time. (for a bit of insight on my heritage and racist up bringing read my post on Alien Trucker We’ll All Be White In Heaven)
But even the liars from the Bush camp are calling McCain on his truth telling skills. Karl Rove said Johnny’s ads are “…beyond, beyond, beyond, the,the 100% truth test”. Kinda bad when one of the nations most well known liars calls your words and actions lies. After all he knows what lies are. I’m far from a fan of Karl’s but this statement, however reluctant, made me have a little warm spot in my heart for a minute…no…wait…after checking the Rove part of my heart I found it to be still ice cold. Never mind. I guess this is just a response from the loyal Bushies to the way McCain is trying to distance himself from the current administration.
Sarah says she is trying to “break the glass ceiling” in words but after knowing her views on women’s rights I guess the ceiling isn’t stained glass. That might keep her out of heaven. You know…that place where everybody is a dead fundie Christian. Where the leaders are the only ones who are smart enough to make decisions about a womans body. Even Sarah wants the male dominated congress and SCOTUS to decide what is best for herself and her daughters. Her preacher told her so…and she knows his word is infallible. He is Gawd’s mouthpiece after all. And he’s not one of those liberal black agitator like Obama’s pastor is. We all know that Wright and his congregation should stay in their place. (Out of Alaska is the first step. Ya hear me Boy?
In reality I think the slamming and attacking is going to bite McCain and Palin in the ass. Americans want to know where they stand on real issues. The economy needs fast serious attention. The voters know we can’t afford to stay in Iraq for “100 years…Maybe 1000″. Can’t afford to lose more of our fine women and men there. Cant afford the expense to be handed down to our childrens grandchildren. Can’t afford the gas to go to work let alone the house payment. Thinking people, regardless of skin color, know we can’t afford 4 more years of the McSameolBushit.
But all they have is race baiting and discord. The message they are sending is not of fixing the problems we face daily but of keeping the folks of color down. A message that if the “nigra” can’t pay a bit of respect how does he expect to be a good boy. And everybody knows that “those people” can’t lead without having a white man, or woman, to tell them how.
Jesse Helms would have been proud.

This isn’t the first and it won’t be the last ad to have code words in it from the McCain camp.

The most pathetic thing of all is that this seems to be the only way they can beat Obama.
From a Libertarian standpoint, I can see a dozen or more things to bite back at Obama in a fair and honest debate (such as his kinship with the Israel PAC, his idea of forced community/military service aka “the draft by any other name” and some of his tax…and spend…ideas).
Unfortunately, the Republican candidate is just as guilty, in his own way on the issues aforementioned, so he can’t lash out at Obama without also ending up pointing fingers at himself and his own policy ideas.
So what’s left, an old…I mean “elderly” (read, respectable), white dude who once fought in a war (lest we forget, he was also a P-O-W) and he plans to serve proudly with his white (read, wholesome), play-wife…I mean “vice-president” who fits the classic definition of the “perfect” fundie spouse (if they aren’t trying to see us the 700 club, I don’t know what they are feeding us).
Since they don’t have policies and ideas to compete with, they go for the next best thing (actually, two things): Accuse anyone who utters Palin’s name, of sexism and cater to that hyper-racial corner of fundies by making note (as often as possible) that “a smart (read, uppity), black (read, scary) dude wants to control your life (and by extension, the life of your white wife and kids)…going so far even to declare that his different and otherness (his blackness, his Arabic sounding name) is the perfect mark of “the beast”, therefore making him the “Anti-Christ”.
Smarmy bastards, indeed.

Wow. I just scanned the blogosphere and realized I was not the only one who saw this ad as racist. The hate message is obvious here. That, and the pity card, is all they have now. Even if Obama doesn’t have the right ideas at least he has ideas.
