The Clueless Losers File: Heath & Deborah Campbell

The Campbells decorate their home with swastikas, name their children “Adolph Hitler”, “Aryan Nation” and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell” (which I suspect is their ignorant reference to Heinrich Himmler), and when turned down by Shop Rite to decorate a cake with the inscription “Happy Birthday Adolph Hitler”, they go to the media to publicize their plight.

First of all, Shop Right did offer to sell them a cake with the name blank, so they could take it home and write anything they wanted on it, so any implication that Shop Rite infringed on their rights would be bogus.

Second, apparently these two clueless losers are both unemployed, on disability.  Sounds like these are two examples of people who possibly abuse the system, and make it more difficult for those who truly are disabled.  Why go public with this story, unless they are trying to shake down Shop Rite. (Apparently the Campbells went to Wal-Mart, who was very happy to sell them a cake with “Happy Birthday Adolph Hitler” written on it.)

Some people may think this is a first amendment issue in terms of the Campbells’ rights, a clue for anyone who does think the Campbells’ have  been wronged, freedom of speech does not mean an individual citizen can force any other citizen, or business entity, to publish anything, it does convey the right to take the damned cake home and write anything you want on it.  Shop Rite were entirely within their rights to conduct their business as they see fit.

Now as far as Wal-Mart accommodating the Campbells request, that is also within Wal-Mart’s right, but in my opinion, just one more reason why I will not patronize Wal-Mart, who will stoop to any dubious business practice to improve their bottom line.

Finally, back to Heath and Deborah Campbell, they exemplify the ignorance of racists, using every lame argument they can conjur in their minds to justify their repugnant values system.  Who in their right mind would saddle their children with the stigma of those names, these two losers are only interested in their own self gratification, they have no idea what parenting is about.  Word is the child welfare authorites may have taken an interest in this couple, maybe none too soon.

Yes this couple has every right to their beliefs, no matter how disgusting and insulting they may be to many of us, but they also need a guided tour in a time machine, back to the 1930’s and 1940’s in Europe, then they need the appointment of a conservator, because they are obviously incapable of rational thought and may  be a danger to their children.

For a window on how this couple’s judgement comes across to their neighbors in their local community, take a look at the comments appended to the story that appeared in their local paper.  One good thing to come out of this, is the fact that it is apparent that the majority of the members of their community seem to understand how wrong on so many levels these two losers are.

The take-away from all of this is that we need to do a better job of educating our children and inculcating respect for all human beings in to their value systems.  Yes, most of that really does fall upon parents and other family members, but it also falls upon all of us as citizens and contributing members of society to also do the right thing, and in this case, Shop Rite took a stand on moral grounds that was the right thing to do.
