gitmo

Guatanamo Bay, Cuba and the horrible prison there has been in the news a lot lately. Our president is seeking it’s closure by the time a year is up and the right wing is fuming. Closing a prison where the majority of the inmates aren’t guilty of anything except being in the wrong place at the wrong time has a lot of mixed ideas flying around. Some folks are happy, some are scared and some just want to see justice served. On a great big silver and gold platter.

The Drudgians, Dittoheads and O’Reilly fans are decrying the probability that a number of the detainees are going to become the ongoing responsibility of the US economy. They feel threatened by anything they don’t know about and are calling all of the prisoners terrorists. They don’t want these folks in Amerika out of a fear that someone that looks and worships differently than they may be a threat to the old guard. I mean…after all…folks who are different should be shunned. Right?

Well I feel there should be answers and repercussions to the administration that made Gitmo. Charges filed here against those who planned and approved the torture of the men who are doing time there. Our new president (sometimes I dare not speak his name or I will combust) promised that the new Attorney General would look into the war crimes commited. But Holder is too busy figuring out ways to go back on his word about leaving medical marijuana clinics and distributors alone in states where it is legal.

The folks in Spain aren’t just standing idly by though. They are looking into charging at least 6 of Bush’s key advisors on Guantanamo. Starting with Al Gonzales the judge in Spain will make a decision on what, if any, charges will be brought against these guys. After all, some of the “detainees” in Gitmo are Spanish Citizens.
The CNN News story is here.

I just hope they will be extradited if the charges in Spain are filed.

Waterboarding is just too good for these sadistic assholes.

When the San Fran dispensary was raided last week, I was fuming. WTF?

As for the loyal Bushies that advocated torture and extraordinary rendition…I hope to hell Spain drags their worthless neocon asses across the pond for the trials too.

What about all the former Gitmo residents that Bush released? Hell, most of them are probably part of Al-Qaeda now…and no one is bitching about those guys.

    THANK YOU!!!
Sometimes I feel like I am speaking a foreign language when I try to address this issue with, well, anyone.
With the boards filled with that overly vocal Bush/Cheney Renfields and those who will continue to try to excuse THIS Administration’s refusal to address this issue except to slowly make memos available to the media, I was beginning to think there was no one else out there willing to address the issue in print.
There are so many issues to address from investigation into the war crimes from torture to the use of renditioning; the use of white phosphorus on civilians in Fallujah; the no-bid contracts that made Cheney extremely wealthy and the attempt to build the first full American dictatorship the lack of response to the demands – and this is just for starters!
As far as those released by Bush? They have kept tabs and Cheney’s boys ( obviously STIL:L actively so) are trying to use them to justify keeping Gitmo open. The constant barrage of the “65″ recidivists that have actually been found to be no more Al Qaeda than they ever were. Being thrown into the group if they walk by a demonstration, read an article from a non-American and unfriendly news source or contact a family member who might be a friend of a friend of a friend…They are all being counted as recidivists.
Has the country become that jaded that they will throw way their moral compass to protect their American Exceptionalist ideas?

Please keep up the fight and know I am there with you. I will shout a hello from the rooftops and won’t stop until these criminals pay the price of their treason and inhumanity.

I am at my ropes end over the Gitmo & torture issues. So many innocent people… told to just wait several more months. The whole reason for suppressing having real trials in the first place was because the truth about the torture would see the light of day.

Let it shine…. let the chips fall where they do. The bastards who allows those crimes against humanity need to face the music.

Why the hell are they protecting Bush & his cronies?

    Seriously!
