But I suspect that the hero or heroine will probably get burnt at the stake. My family and I moved to Bakersfield in 1989, and, from the beginning, we have heard about the terrible way in which the D.A.s office has dealt with suspects. Ed Jagels and his cronies have misused their power so many times that the book "Mean Justice" HAD to be written to highlight such abuses. As a resident of Bakersfield, I am embarassed to say I live here and that Jagels is still in charge. When will the people of Bakersfield stop electing this corrupt man? One more day in office for Jagels is one day too many for the innocently accused residents of Kern County. We, the concerned people of Kern, need to remove Jagels from office as soon as possible. They never had anything on the McMartins; it was all coerced out of innocent children after a psycho mom meltdown. Good peoples' lives were destroyed. Yikes! I hadn’t heard of that.
