Iraq Is Ready. Will We Let Them Have Their Cities Back?
May 4, 2009 by Alien Trucker

Iraq wants the United States to get out of their cities. They are grown up now and feel confident they can run the place by themselves. Seems the agreement that was made a while back needs to be honored.
The embarrassment to the Iraqi government would be huge if US troops remained to do the work they feel they can do themselves.
I think it’s about time the US Military does something the Iraqi’s want for a change. The invasion and subsequent occupation isn’t something they asked for nor did most of the Iraqi citizens even want it. The general support for our presence has never been there, not even when our troops were “greeted as liberators”.
But, of course, the War Machine is not ready to leave. Big profits for killing apparatus would surely wane if our soldiers weren’t in the places of most conflict. In April the top U.S. commander in Iraq, Gen. Raymond Odierno, mused that Iraqi forces won’t be ready to assume responsibility for Mosul by the time they say. Seems the spokesmen for the War Machine are already planning to go back on our agreement of being out of the cities by June 30.
Moving the troops to the outlying bases (near the pipeline) and to Afghanistan is the plan. Kinda sucks in my opinion. We should just bring our men and women home.
Let the Iraq government work out the problem we started in their own way. Like they wanted to in the first place.
Here is the story from MSNBC.
