Pro-life nutjobs murder Dr. George Tiller

May 31, 2009 by Dusty

He has fought for a woman’s right to choose for decades. He has been charged in a court of law and beat the politcally-motivated case with an aquittal. They have shot him in both arms trying to end his practice of medicine. They have bombed his clinic and picketed his clinic regularly.

They finally silenced Dr. George. They murdered him this morning.  From MSNBC:

He was acquitted in March of misdemeanor charges stemming from procedures he performed, but moments after the verdict the state’s medical board announced it was investigating allegations against him that are nearly identical to those the jury had rejected.
Prosecutors had alleged that Tiller had in 2003 gotten second opinions from a doctor who was essentially an employee of his, not independent as state law requires, but a jury took only about an hour to find him not guilty of all 19 counts.

Tiller, who could have faced a year in jail for even one conviction, stared straight ahead as the verdicts were read, with one of his attorneys patting his shoulder after the decision on the final count was declared. His wife, seated across the courtroom, fought back tears and nodded. The couple declined to speak to reporters afterward.

Tiller, 67, has claimed that the prosecution was politically motivated. An attorney general who opposed abortion rights began the investigation into Tiller’s clinic more than four years ago, but both his successor, who filed the criminal charges, and the current attorney general support abortion rights.

Tiller has been a favored target of anti-abortion protesters, and he testified that he and his family have suffered years of harassment and threats. His clinic was the site of the 1991 “Summer of Mercy” protests marked by mass demonstrations and arrests. His clinic was bombed in 1985, and an abortion opponent shot him in both arms in 1993.

They had to kill him to silence him. Sick bastards who say they are pro-life killed Dr. George.  May they all rot in hell.

Update from the NYT:
The shooting occurred at around 10 a.m. (Central time) at Reformation Lutheran Church on the city’s East Side, Dr. Tiller’s regular church.

Wichita police said that the shots were fired from a handgun in the church lobby during the morning service. The authorities gave few details, but said they were searching for a powder blue Taurus made in the 1990s that had been seen leaving shortly after the shooting. They said witnesses had described seeing a white man departing.

How can these hypocrites say they are pro-life? How in the hell do they rationalize this sickening bullshit?

Kansas doctor George Tiller killed today!
WICHITA, Kansas – Media reports say that abortion provider Dr. George Tiller has been shot and killed at his Wichita church. Tiller has been among the few U.S. physicians performing late-term abortion. His clinic has repeatedly been the site of protests for about two decades. He was acquitted in March of misdemeanor charges stemming from procedures he performed, but moments after the verdict the state’s medical board announced it was investigating allegations against him that are nearly identical to those the jury had rejected.

The guy was a murderer. Late-Term abortions… are you kidding me? Good riddance.

G*D rest his soul- Dr. Tiller is a hero!

  4. Dusty on May 31st, 2009 4:29 pm

A murderer? He performed perfectly legal medical procedures. Now, the asshole that killed him is a murderer…and that makes him what?

A Domestic Terrorist. A prolife wingnut that took Dr George’s life. Sick bastard can’t explain this without being a hypocrite.

You can not take a life in defense of your pro-life position..its without logic.

Jesus stated “He without sin among you let him cast the first stone at her.” Some religious still stone raped women & own women. Who should own them as a slave? Exodus describes no penalty for women who choose to terminate pregnancy, nor does any Bible verse.

Medically, a fetus becomes a baby at its first breath. Then, siblings recognize it & it’s named, christened, given citizenship, & celebrates zero. Unless you’re a surrogate, the only way to give rights to unborn is to take away women’s.

Dusty in your way of thinking, I would guess that makes him a really late term abortionist.

Dusty, you paint with such a broad brush. I am pro life and believe that the man that murdered Dr. Tiller was equally wrong as Dr. Tiller who took innocent life and did harm, which goes against the Hippocratic Oath that he took upon becoming Doctor. There is no hero in this story, just two murderers.

  7. Dusty on June 1st, 2009 10:32 am

It makes the man that murdered Dr Tiller a Domestic Terrorist Marty..plain and simple. They want to strike fear in the hearts and minds of everyone that is prochoice or performs the legal medical procedure called an abortion.

    Terrorist, from the US Law Definition: (2) the term “terrorism” means premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents;

    From U.S. Code Title 22, Ch.38, Para. 2656f(d)

All of you anti-choice folks and your moral outrage over the legal medical procedure known as abortion just slay me. You don’t believe in abortion? Fine, don’t get one! Nothing gives you the right to intimidate Doctors who perform this legal medical procedure. And when you do intimidate them..you are a Domestic Terrorist.

  8. Robb Willis on June 1st, 2009 11:30 am

For every anti-abortionist that condemns the doctor’s killing, how many would you guess condone it? 50? 100? 1000?

At least the ones that openly condone it have the guts to say so. The ones that condemn it publicly, but condone it privately are hypocrites and cowards. I’m betting that’s the majority, but then again, I’m a cynic.

  9. Marty Griffith on June 1st, 2009 11:49 am

Dusty, who do you think I am intimidating? You don’t know me and I’m guessing you don’t know many pro lifers. I don’t intimidate, but I feel sorry for you. You seem very angry and evidently this is what gets you through the day. There is a better way. Jesus came that you might have LIFE, and that MORE ubundantly. He wants all to have LIFE, unborn babies, abortionists, and pro abortionists. He wants all to have ubundant life, that is more life. How can you have more life? It is eternal life through Jesus and what He did for you on a cruel cross 2 thousand years ago. Choose LIFE Dusty, and he’ll give you an eternity with Him.

Now, if that is intimidating, then I am guilty as charged.

  10. Dusty on June 1st, 2009 12:06 pm

Jesus? The vast majority of the extremist religious folks don’t even know the meaning of Jesus and his teachings. They teach hate towards anyone that believes differently than they do.

Dr George Tiller was doing nothing illegal. Period. Yet one of the anti-choice extremists/terrorists took his life. We have plenty of rightwing extremists preaching daily to take out everyone that believes in pro-choice for women. Scott Roeder was even arrested in the 90’s for having bomb making equipment in his car.

And yes, quoting your biblical bs is intimidating to many people. Not to me however as I know plenty of rightwing theocrat’s. I have a whole family of them. They say they believe in life yet support the death penalty. They think all Muslims are terrorists because they don’t like their religion. They want all fetuses to live yet refuse to take care of those that were unwanted by the woman who gave birth to them. How many have you adopted Marty?

And do not tell me that you aren’t one of the extremists. You have a link to the worst of the haters, Rush Limbaugh, on your website..enough said.

  11. Marty Griffith on June 1st, 2009 12:33 pm

    Dusty, you wrote:
“We have plenty of rightwing extremists preaching daily to take out everyone that believes in pro-choice for women.” You have an obligation to turn these people into the proper authorities. Have you done so, or is this just the usual left wing propaganda that you are repeating? You blame everyone that disagrees with you for this man’s death, but did you notify the proper authorities with this list of “plenty of rightwing extremists preaching daily to take out everyone that believes in pro-choice for women” that you seem to have? This might have turned up this murderer before he committed this atrocity. Four abortion doctors have been killed in this country, which is too many. You, however, act like this is the norm, and it is not.

The doctor’s church was a much safer place for an abortionist to be than the doctor’s office was for unborn babies. The doctor’s practice of late term abortions had come under investigation by a pro abortion group which did not feel his practice was, as you say, perfectly legal. I only bring this up because you did. Obviously, this is not an excuse for murder. The doctor should have had his day in court as he did before on the 19 dismissed misdemeanor charges.

  12. Dusty on June 1st, 2009 12:41 pm

He won that case Marty. Get your info straight ok? He was acquitted by a jury of his peers.

As for the idiots that say they believe in god but are happy as hell Dr Tiller is dead..Try these wingnuts on for size:

    http://www.armyofgod.com/

Try proving your statements as well, particularly this one:
The doctor’s practice of late term abortions had come under investigation by a pro abortion group which did not feel his practice was, as you say, perfectly legal.

I blame the hatemongers among you. Rush LImbaugh is the biggest of them..and you link to his website. Says a lot about you.

  13. Dusty on June 1st, 2009 12:46 pm

Marty, Here is the case you erroneously describe as dismissed:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/28/us/28abortion.html

  14. Marty Griffith on June 1st, 2009 1:27 pm

Dusty, I said the charges were dismissed, he was found not guilty of all 19 charges. I have my facts straight, it is you who is so angry you are reading things that I did not say.

The left always groups everyone. I have nothing in common with the group whose web page you said to, “Try on for size”. Again Dusty you wrote, “We have plenty of rightwing extremists preaching daily to take out everyone that believes in pro-choice for women.” Turn them into the authorities. Have you done this? Any group that would gloat over this doctor’s life ending the way it did, have nothing to do with me or me with them. I am a lover, not a fighter. In my opinion, we, those who oppose abortion, need to get these bad laws reversed. We need to win this battle at the ballot box. Your side needs to be defeated politically. That’s how it’s done in America. It is not accomplished through murdering doctors.

  15. Dusty on June 1st, 2009 1:41 pm

The government is very aware of the rightwing extremists as they issued a report on them recently Marty.

The meaning of the word dismissed:
dismiss v. the ruling by a judge that all or a portion (one or more of the causes of action) of the plaintiff’s lawsuit is terminated (thrown out) at that point without further evidence or testimony. This judgment may be made before, during, or at the end of a trial, when the judge becomes convinced that the plaintiff has not and cannot prove his/her/its case. This can be based on the complaint not alleging a cause of action, a motion for summary judgment, plaintiff’s opening statement of what will be proved, or some development in the evidence by either side which bars judgment for the plaintiff. The judge may dismiss on his own or upon motion by the defendant. The plaintiff may voluntarily dismiss a cause of action before or during trial if the case is settled, if it is not provable, or trial strategy dictates getting rid of a weak claim. A defendant may be “dismissed” from a lawsuit, meaning the suit is dropped against that party. (See: dismissal)

Therefore, they were not dismissed Marty. So drop the anger bs ok? Now, run along and go listen to Boss Limbaugh spew his hatred ok? ;)

  16. Dusty on June 1st, 2009 1:50 pm

Oh, and Marty, you and your ilk will not ever overturn Roe v Wade. Too many American’s believe in pro-choice and the health of the mother issues regarding abortion. Take this CNN poll done in May of this year:

The 1973 Roe versus Wade decision established a woman’s constitutional right to an abortion, at least in the first three months of pregnancy. Would you like to see the Supreme Court completely overturn its Roe versus Wade decision, or not?

    30% Yes, overturn
    68% No, not overturn

Have a great day Marty! ;)

  17. Robb Willis on June 1st, 2009 4:36 pm

Oh yeah, atheists and pro-choicers are always potrayed as “angry”, lol!
Next we’ll be hearing about how the Christians, a majority, are being persecuted. But they’re not angry about it, oh no…

  18. Javi on June 2nd, 2009 1:51 pm

Bottom line; Tiller was a killer. You live by the “sword” you die by the “sword.”

I have no sympathy for money grubbing doctors acting like they are doing something good for people (women) but they are no better than a televagelist ripping off widows and orphans for their last cent!

You “Pro choice/death” people are such hypocrites – never seeing the forest because of the tree of your selfishness. Why don’t you shed a tear for the children torn to shreds by this mans seared conscience.

  19. Dusty on June 2nd, 2009 2:34 pm

Javi, you over-dramatic anti-choice freaks can use whatever word you want for the legal medical procedure called an abortion. You don’t like choice? Fine..don’t get an abortion. For Christs sake, if you don’t like the laws, then work to change them, within the system, not by killing and intimidating the Dr’s.

Speaking of hypocrites..how many of those unwanted children that were actually born have you adopted?

And you can kindly kiss my ass with that live by the sword bullshit. Are you also a biblethumper that believes in the death penalty?

Dusty´s last blog post..Nevada assembly overrides Governors veto of same sex unions.

  20. Robb Willis on June 3rd, 2009 8:19 am

“…but they are no better than a televagelist ripping off widows and orphans for their last cent!”

Not that they wouldn’t, but when did televangelists start ripping off orphans? Since that was the most coherent portion of your post, I thought you might have an example.

If you actually took a little time to investigate Tiller’s case history, you’d see that you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. But all you know is that abortion is always bad. In your own selfishness, you couldn’t care less about the mother carrying an already dead baby that might kill her. You are shameless and I wouldn’t shed a tear if you were publicly torn to shreds.
