Imaginary Friends and the World
July 13, 2009 by Alien Trucker

The other day my 75 y/o mom had a stroke. Just a week after a heart attack that the doctors said was the cause of the stroke. Something about a blood pool from the heart thingy rushing to her brain. They told her that her already poor health along with living in semi primitive conditions and eating unhealthy greasy fried crap for a week and a half brought on the heart attack that started the whole thing. See, she and my dad had spent 12 days at their church’s camp meeting in southern Arkansas and the heart stoppage happened as soon as they got home. Kinda funny how worshiping an imaginary friend can make you sick…he is the allfreakingmighty after all
She is at home now but may never regain her speech or some motor skills. While she was in the hospital the only person I could contact was her sister who lives with them in Texas. (my dad had a stroke 6 years ago and cant talk so…helluva thing for a preacher who never shutup.) I called my aunt to find out how she was. I was told that everything would be alright because people all over the US were praying for her. There was no way I could get the info from her because she had left it all in gawd’s hands. I put a desperate plea for info on my Facebook page as many relatives are “friends” and are also church fanatics. Hoping for some info I got many rebuking letters from cousins and aunts. Some even deleted me from their friend list because I asked for real info and not some spooky church based crap. Why did I need to know when…after all…her health was gawds business.
I called mom yesterday and my sister repeated the same crap. Frustrating for sure but my family stuff isn’t why I am writing this. Just showing the smallmindedness of a fundamental Christian preachers wife and family in comparison with the beliefs of peoples of the world and their own brand of imaginary friends.
A few years ago, after the World Trade Centers collapse, professing Christian President G.W. Bush declared a war against those evil folks whose religious fanaticism led to the attacks. Well…thats what we were told. (I’m still wondering if the real host countries will ever be officially named) In the war the US and their Allies sought to eliminate the fanatics. Some surrendered and were killed while being transported to prison. By US supported troops it seems.
Now the new Christian President has to delve into the mess caused by a religious war. It must be hell cleaning up after the followers of the two imaginary friends screw up so badly. Of course Obama’s spooky friend has minions who have power over a larger military, unlimited (it seems) money and his predecessor even had conversations with gawd.
North Korea’s leader has always tried to put himself up as a gawd to the folks there. Indoctrination of the people starts early we are told and he is worshipped…publicly. Now, after his stroke, we are told he has pancreatic cancer. The gawd is in poor health. Seems to be affecting his already insane mind. You know…lobbing missles at his whim and threatening everyone including the US, who by the way has a completely different gawd than N. Korea. Does he know that a gawd figure needs to make a huge impression on a lot of people to be worshipped religiously? Does he think a nuclear bomb thrown and the retalitation which could change life on this planet will make his memory sacred? Does he care if he is always remembered as a villian it will change his gawdship? Kim Jong Il is his own imaginary friend and unfortunately I believe he is crazy enough to do something stupid.
They are still killing each other in Iraq over the Sunni/Shiite rift because each side knows their imaginary friend is the right spook. Israel and the Palistinians hate each other to death all the time because their friend tells them to. Will we ever wake up and learn to accept each other as earth dwellers and leave our imaginations to things that could be real?
Wars have been fought over whose imaginary friend is right since history began. They will continue after we here have died. The gawds really have nothing to do with it as it is the fans of gawds that make the trouble.
Long ago, when I was a small child my mom taught us kids that having an imaginary friend was a sin. Gawd didn’t like us to lie and having a friend that wasn’t there was a form of lying. Having an imaginary friend can “send you to hell”, she admonished.
Looks like she was right.

Wow, I hope she gets better, in spite of what the prognosis is Rocky.
That people put their trust in gawd for all things, is hard for many of us to take.
