If You Get Confused…Remember John Dawson
July 24, 2009 by Alien Trucker

John Dawson was awesome. I don’t use that word everyday so that means I really loved his musical talent and the fact that he shared it with us. The last time I saw him play my son was a week old. He’s 21 now so… I missed a lot.
A founder of the New Riders Of The Purple Sage, he brought that country rock sound into our lives and for that he will always be remembered. Tuesday he passed to the next phase and hopefully he is jamming with old friends who went before him.
Besides the work he did with NRPS he jammed with the Grateful Dead and JGB as well as other bands from the San Fransisco scene. Here he is with NRPS in Chicago on 6/19/08 doing an old Robert Hunter/Jerry Garcia song that was a Grateful Dead standard for years.
Rest In Peace John.
You were far more than a “Ripple” in my waters.
