August 31, 2010
US President Barack Hussein Obama announced today that combat in Iraq would end August 31, 2010.
The plan he laid out also includes a provision to leave 50 thousand troops for peacekeeping purposes.
Looks like McCain will get the thousand years of occupation he said he wanted and the official fighting will be over.
YAYYYYY?????
If they really [...]
Another Forward
Yes, it’s time again for another feel-good/liberal-hating/right-wing forward. And you all know how much I love those little misguided, Fox addled, authoritarian brain farts.
Here’s today’s pea-brain patriot’s piffle.

7 Years Later It Is Still Just Talk.
Seven years ago the Chinese made flags were flying from anywhere they could be hung. Americans were salivating for revenge. War frenzy was being whipped up from every part of the war machine. We were living by color coded terror alerts and the fear prompted everyone to be willing to give up our liberties in [...]
The kind of government we want
. . . in Iraq differs, depending on with whom you are having the discussion. The original goal of the neocons was quite clear. They were intent on establishing a democracy as a foothold somewhere in the Middle East.
A bitch wouldn’t even know..
Like many St. Louisans I was deeply touched by the story of Private First Class LaVena Johnson, who died as a result of a non-combat incident near Balad, Iraq.
Failed negotiations ~ A Good thing
I am so happy the Iraqis are refusing to sign “deals” that don’t include timelines for an exit. What the hell kind of deals for prolonged war profiteering might Bush be trying to cut, as his presidential clock runs down?
Sageman on Leaderless Jihad — 2
In the post-September 11 world, Al Qaeda is no longer the central organizing force that aids or authorizes terrorist attacks or recruits terrorists. Rather, it serves as an inspiration for individuals and other groups who have branded themselves with the Al Qaeda name.
Iraq doesn’t like our offer..go figure.
The US and Iraq have been in ‘negotiations’ for awhile now over a permanent..cough..pact. A pact that will govern how and what we are allowed to do within Iraq’s borders.
Bushliburton, Masters of Compartmentalization
Among the eloquent Rocky Mountain News photographs included here is a shocking image — by Todd Heisler, now of The New York Times — of commercial airline passengers looking out plane windows at Reno-Tahoe International Airport in Nevada, trying to see what is happening beneath them.
Would you like lies with that?

A big cyber hug to Betmo for the 411 on this. From The Guardian:

there are many, many curse words forming on my lips now
this is why i hold such contempt for christianity. this is why i speak out so disdainfully about organized religions. religions are used as control mechanisms for the ‘faithful’ sheeple. i have read proof that the heads of these organizations hold seminars in marketing and role playing- and how to target certain [...]
ABB’s McClellan Book Fall-Out Minion Watch…
Y’all know that scene from The Matrix when Neo wakes up in the real world and realizes that he’s been living a simulation all of his life?
Yeah, that’s what I thought of when I watched news breaks that Scott McClellan’s book breaks ranks…BIG TIME…with Bushology.
But then I remembered that I like Neo, I was rooting [...]
