HJC votes to hold Rove in contempt.
July 30, 2008 by Dusty · Leave a Comment
This morning, the birds are chirping, the sun is out, the sky is blue and Karl Rove is a wanted man.
The House Judiciary Committee voted 20-14 to hold Karl Rove in contempt for failing “to respond to a subpoena to face questioning from the Committee on the prosecution of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman”, per TPM Muckraker.
Don’t you just love the stench of partisan politics in the morning? Of all the shit that Krazy Karl has pulled..they use this one? I mean wtf people? Outing Valerie Plame, the firing of the USA’s and a host of other fucktarded things can be laid at the feet of that pasty piece of batshit..
The Washington Independent has a nice primer up that explores what can happen next. Check it out.

take a moment and sign the petition- and send it to 10 more people. if we can spread the word and put some pressure on pelosi and conyers- we may be able to finally get back some of our democracy. the gop obviously doesn’t want this- as they have obstructed anything that pelosi and reid have had any balls to introduce- and cheney isn’t pleased with having his bizness aired. let’s take cheney out- he’s the real brains behind the dynamic duo anyway. worry about the bushling later and let’s get darth!
wexler’s call for impeachment of cheney- sign today!!
there’s a reason the msm hasn’t picked this up– someone is afraid! i mean the white house is now publicly telling the nytimes how to print their stories. let’s do this!

Lets start today with one of the clown prince’s of political corruption..Abu Gonzales! Yes Abu has been given award (h/t to Fran) by, of all groups…wait for it..
A magazine published by the American Bar Association names Gonzo: Lawyer of the Year
Now, I almost gagged to death on my freshly made, Splenda instead of real sugar, Peanut Butter cookie when I read the title of the article. I mean really..wtf, I thought as I was choking my ass off. But a closer look into the article shows that like Time magazine’s award it doesn’t mean its a good thing. It means he got the most press of any lawyer in the entire world. Ain’t that the truth my dear reader? Can’t argue with that logic can we? From the RawStory writeup:
“Think about Time magazine’s Person of the Year,” Adams said in an interview. “In years past they’ve named people like Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin. So we’re not suggesting by these awards that these are the best lawyers in any sense of the word. We are saying they are the most newsworthy — and perhaps also the best.”
Ok, I don’t mind Abu being linked to Hitler or Stalin on second thought..do you?

She has just begun to speak out. Listen to what she has to say. Gentlewomen and men, I give you..Valerie Plame and KO:

Plame on surviving the Washington spy game
They had no shame, those men that destroyed the trust of the CIA employees. Cheney made them all collateral damage in his little pissing contest.

“As America nears the sixth anniversary of the world-churning events of September 11, 2001, a new Zogby International poll finds a majority of Americans still await a Congressional investigation of President Bush’ and Vice President Cheney’s actions before, during and after the 9/11 attacks. Over 30% also believe Bush and/or Cheney should be immediately impeached by the House of Representatives.”

Here’s the new unveiled Democrat bumper sticker slogan for the 2008 campaign that will be hitting the cars and streets near you. I hope it doesn’t mean violence on the part of the people that occupy the right side of the isle. While I think it is a good one (a Californian from Palm Springs designed it…yay Cali!) I think the Republicans will take great umbrage with it. I’m not sure I’d have the nerve to put it on my Avalon and trust them to keep their hands off damaging my car. Honestly…I’ve never been a bumper sticker kind of person anyway. I’ll figure something out…and it won’t entail possible harm to my car that’s for sure.
Bye Rove, don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya!

Today is the last day ‘of work’ for Karl Rove, aka the devil incarnate. Lets give him a rollicking good bye by remembering how he ruined the United States of America and basically the entire world as we know it. Let me start:
PlameGate…nothing more need be said.
Politicizing every department withing the Federal Government.
This is your chance to whack the mole known as Karl Rove..take your best shot my dear reader!

So are we over the bombshell of Rove leaving his Lord and Master yet? Bush’s closest and longest-serving advisor will be resigning in about 10 days. Will there be beer and pizza party’s all over the land? Drunken, naked pool party’s cropping up on every block in America? Shall the hounds of hell be released with chaos and anarchy the rule of the day? Wait! Let me pop some popcorn first…I don’t want to miss this…not a minute of it!
Let’s just see here for just a moment. It seems our Karl is grateful to have been a “witness to history.” Hmmm, well…I guess he not only witnessed it, he made it too. We all know that ol’ Karl was instrumental in shaping policy decisions and Republican campaign strategies…so that would explain how he got the moniker…”the architect” by none other than Bush himself and “Bush’s brain” by those that would criticize him. Not bad…not bad at all. He’s been doing his magic since 1993 when Bush first ran for governor of Texas. That’s a long time to be hooked at the hip with some guy. But apparently they severed the cord…because Karl needs to spend more time with his family. Oopsie!…I choked on my popcorn…now I need a swig of my root beer…ah…that’s better.

Turdblossom will leave the Executive Branch at the end of August. This marks the end of his reign of terror on the United States.
Or does it? There are plenty of articles out there trying to lay claim to what they think Krazy Karl will do next, after the dust settles and his wife and son get tired of seeing him on a daily basis. This write-up explores the way history will view Bush’s Brain,The Architect.. aka Karl Christian Rove.
First, some facts about Karl Rove:
Rove was born on Christmas Day. If that doesn’t kill the holiday for you, I don’t know what would.
Rove went to no less than 4 different colleges. He doesn’t hold a degree from any of them. Needless to say, he dodged the draft using the college deferment.
Rove’s mentor and first political boss was Donald Segretti of Watergate fame. Under Segretti, he taught a class for Young Republicans on how to sift through the garbage of Democratic candidates. We know what happened to Segretti my dear reader. Rove was also investigated for Watergate crimes but the FBI considered him small potatoes.
Rove owned a direct-mail firm, which specialized in political campaigns, before he went to work for Bush43. He was involved in dozens of campaigns marked by dirty tricks, sexual innuendo and the use of friendly FBI agents and prosecutors to harass Democrats. He sold the business when he signed on with Bush43 in 1999, as demanded by Bush43 himself as a condition of hiring Rove.
Rove was fired from Bush41’s failed Presidential campaign in 1980 for leaking information to the Press.
Rove was again fired, this time from the 1992 Bush41 presidential campaign, after he planted a negative story with columnist Robert Novak about dissatisfaction with campaign fundraising chief Robert Mosbacher Jr.

August 14, 2007 by Dusty · 6 Comments
From Jason Leopold and TruthOut come this story:
The Republican National Committee said it will not abide by a subpoena and turn over documents to a Congressional committee investigating the firings of at least eight US attorneys last year because the RNC is waiting to see if the White House will assert executive privilege over RNC documents at the center of the controversy, according to an outside law firm retained by the RNC.
The White House has asserted executive privilege to block senior administration officials from testifying before Congress about their involvement in the decision to fire the federal prosecutors. Moreover, the White House has cited executive privilege in declining to turn over specific documents to Congress that may shed further light on the circumstances behind the attorney firings. The US attorneys believe they were fired for partisan political reasons. In some instances, the US attorneys said they were pressured by Republican lawmakers and RNC operatives to file criminal charges against Democrats at the center of public corruption probes prior to last year’s midterm election as well as individual cases of voter fraud, which the attorneys said was based on weak evidence, in order to cast a dark cloud over Democratic incumbents and swing election results toward Republican challengers
Hell, isn’t everything Executive Privilege by now under King George? We need Congress to move their ass..but wait..they are on vacation..never mind.

The story broke not by a reporter, but the OpEd guy at the WSJ. Strange wouldn’t you say? This story also breaks on the heels of a nasty writeup by the Atlantic Monthly.
Personally, I don’t know if this is good news or bad news..but Rover is resigning effective end of August. WaPo as well as a zillion other sites have a piece up about it.
I think he plans to go to work on Fred Thompson’s campaign..just a hunch. Congress still needs to charge him with Contempt of Congress. This smarmy sumbitch needs to be held accountable. A quote from Rover on the subject:
“There’s always something that can keep you here,” Rove said, “and as much as I’d like to be here, I’ve got to do this for the sake of my family.”
His family?? I thought the man was raised by wolves, is anyone really buying this excuse? Of course he says he doesn’t PLAN to work on any Presidential Campaign..but we know how folks change their minds. He has a son in college, so if the draft is created..he won’t be serving either…just like his Daddy.

Rove leads, administration officials follows. It isn’t just that Alberto Gonzales fired perfectly good U.S. Attorneys in the current scandal; that competent people have been replaced by political hacks is just the tip of the iceberg.
It’s that Karl Rove’s quest for permanent Republican control is at the heart of the matter.
This isn’t a case just about rewarding Dubya’s political cronies. It’s about putting people into positions that could impair the will of the people to be manifested in the dirty business of campaigning and the actual casting of votes.
Greg Palast, the last of the great investigative journalists, came by his revelations on the Republican strategy to invalidate whole blocks of votes through a joke of sorts. John A. Wooden, the wag behind WhiteHouse.org and in the old days, GeorgeWBush.org, the latter having been purchased back by the Republicans for the current project of creating the George W. Bush Library. (Now if someone will just teach Dubya to read before the Grand Opening of the facility housing all those censored documents… but I digress.)
Because the campaign added GeorgeWBush.org to its list of addresses for sending emails regarding campaign strategies to the party faithful, Wooden was on the receiving end of voter lists selected for caging; names of voters from largely black neighborhoods whose votes would be challenged and discarded in national elections.

Once upon a time, there was a Place called the Department of Justice. It was a noble institution, one we could always be sure would do the right thing and that politicization of the Department would never occur to taint their decisions or prosecutions….
Those days of old are gone sportfans..seriously..they have been for over six years now. Our DoJ is headed by a man who has sold his soul to the devil…aka George W. Bush. The Department has been a haven for liars, carpetbaggers and charlatans that care more about the Asshat in the Oval Office and covering his lily-white, privileged ass than doing the “People’s” business. We also have the whores working out of the White House..you know..Rover,Bolton, Jennings, a myriad of other whores and former whore-in-waiting Harriet Mier’s to thank for our downward spiral into the abyss.
The only way to break the back of this horrible beast is for our Congress to do its job. Their job, which our founding fathers put in writing, was among other things… to protect our country from an evil dynasty of men who would rather lie to us, spy on us, squander human lives, drain our federal budget, take care of their friends, cronies and business partners AND sacrifice what’s left of our Constitution….for personal gain.
Why did this happen now when Congress is planning a month long vacation which is thinly disguised as time to go home and ‘talk to their constituents’ you might ask yourself..I know I did. There are many different scenarios and they all stink to high heaven.
