Jon Turley on Abuse of Power by BushCo.
Once again my favorite constitutional law Professor at GW University, Jonathan Turley, talks about the Kucinich impeachment article and Bush’s most recent claim of Executive Privilege to keep Mukasey from complying with a House subpoena on the PlameGate investigation.

take a moment and sign the petition- and send it to 10 more people. if we can spread the word and put some pressure on pelosi and conyers- we may be able to finally get back some of our democracy. the gop obviously doesn’t want this- as they have obstructed anything that pelosi and reid have had any balls to introduce- and cheney isn’t pleased with having his bizness aired. let’s take cheney out- he’s the real brains behind the dynamic duo anyway. worry about the bushling later and let’s get darth!
wexler’s call for impeachment of cheney- sign today!!
there’s a reason the msm hasn’t picked this up– someone is afraid! i mean the white house is now publicly telling the nytimes how to print their stories. let’s do this!

December 18, 2007 by Dusty · Leave a Comment
Courtesy of CREW, Citizens for Responsibilty and Ethics in Washington has released their year end report. They note at the top of the page that despite
the Democrat’s election vow to institute more checks and balances on Congressional ethics, not a damn thing has changed in that regard. No new enforcement regulations were put into law in the 110th Congress, and a group of fuckwits tasked with providing a report as to what needed to be done has yet to issue said report. Now, on to the scandals!
Ted “Bridge to Nowhere” Stevens
Teddy Stevens had his house in Alaska raided by the FBI and IRS this year. “Stevens is under federal investigation for his dealings with Bill Allen, founder of VECO Corp., an Alaska-based oil field services and engineering company that has been awarded tens of millions of dollars in federal contracts. Allen has admitted to paying for an addition to Sen. Stevens’ home.”
Senator Larry Craig
Larry has a penchant for airport restrooms and blowjobs , which caught the attention of most of the U.S. when he plead guilty to soliciting an undercover cop in a MN airport restroom. The Senate Ethics committee is *cough* investigating whether Craig violated the Senate rule prohibiting members from engaging in “improper conduct which reflects upon the Senate.”
Senator David “Diaper” Vitter
Vitter had a penchant for hookers and diapers evidently but the Senate isn’t investigating him for violating the Senate rule prohibiting members from engaging in “improper conduct which reflects upon the Senate”. But they are investigating Larry Craig..Go figure.

not content with papa bush’s attempt to cozy up to saddam hussein (or replace him with a different dictator more friendly to american corporate interests) by leaving the kurds high and dry after the ‘gulf war’ in 1991, the bushling has decided to cozy up to turkey and butt fuck the kurds again. gee, i guess this must be why karen hughes resigned her job as Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs yesterday.

Plame on surviving the Washington spy game
They had no shame, those men that destroyed the trust of the CIA employees. Cheney made them all collateral damage in his little pissing contest.
Sphere: Related ContentMukasey is a fan of the “Unitary Executive Theory”
After watching the confirmation hearing for Michael Mukasey the last couple of days, I have come to the conclusion that he is a Bushie of the highest order…just more intelligent than the others in that select group. Watch the exchange between Mukasey and Russ Feingold below regarding Bush and his ability to disobey laws he doesn’t like or impede his power.

Mukasey tries to backtrack on the second day by saying its not a black and white issue..its a grey area. I call bullshit on that one right here and now. Its either the constitution or the president that holds sway. If BushCo believes in the Unitary Executive Theory and that it applies to all things Presidential, and there is no doubt about it my dear reader, they do…then they also believe they have the right to ignore parts of the constitution.

i have wondered for a long time where the billions and billions of lost taxpayer’s money has been going. i mean aside from the halliburton contractors in iraq and aside from the halliburton contractors in the gulf region; and the christian mercenaries in both places- oh and the secular mercenaries in both places. i wondered where the agencies’ monies disappeared- and i can only assume it’s in the neo cons’ coffers.

“As America nears the sixth anniversary of the world-churning events of September 11, 2001, a new Zogby International poll finds a majority of Americans still await a Congressional investigation of President Bush’ and Vice President Cheney’s actions before, during and after the 9/11 attacks. Over 30% also believe Bush and/or Cheney should be immediately impeached by the House of Representatives.”

Fellow Sirens and friends of the blogosphere…I knew this day would dawn. I’ve seen it coming as I’m sure you all have…but in no clearer way than this story here. George sent his mounted police to charge an outdoor press conference and demonstration against the Iraq War in Washington yesterday. Three freedom fighters were arrested. It was a peaceful crowd of 20 journalists and four or five protestors. Of the three arrested…Tina Richards, the mother of a marine who has done two tours of Iraq, Adam Kokesh, a leader of the Iraq Veterans Against the War group; and a lawyer Ian Thompson, who is an organizer for ANSWER in Los Angeles.
Last month, the movement was threatened with a fine of at least $10,000 unless it removed posters in the city announcing the September 15th march that many thousands are expected to attend. This doesn’t surprise me either. This is the test people. This is the test whether George will unleash the hounds on the crowds…and by that I mean…we may see another Kent State. I think the big guns will be coming out for this one gang. Rubber bullets injure and kill too…and I see it in our future. This is NOT what executive privilege means my friends…this is fascism at its best. It is the suppressing of a country’s populace…trampling on their free will to speak out at that which would attempt to stifle their voice of freedom. Hard as the Bush madministration will try…we will not be stopped…only until we are dead. He hasn’t got enough of his goon police for that…not yet anyway.

the blogosphere has been pretty busy of late- what with all of the corruption oozing out of the government and whatnot. ever wonder why it is only just seeping out now? i do- but then again i tend to be suspicious in nature. so- a recent recap has seen at least 14 folks ‘resign’ from the executive branch within the last 6-8 months and several folks in the congress leave for a variety of reasons- mostly, if not exclusively, rethuglican. why? what do they know that we don’t? i would love to say it’s because they are quaking in their boots that they are going to be hauled under oath before congress and whatnot- but let’s get real. so, why now?
don’t ya wonder why so many upper management rethugs buy property elsewhere in the world? paraguay and dubai jump to mind. i mean i have posted myself recently on the billions and trillions of american dollars flying free hither and yon- mostly because i have been interested to know where exactly my tax dollars have been going since it has become painfully obvious that it isn’t to infrastructure here– or iraq apparently. so- i have read and posted about mercenary companies and troops; christian mercenaries and pulpit schemes to get folks to obey and fight for jesus against the heathen infidels abroad- and domestic. i have read about paying off foreign heads of state and paying for their legal bills- and bribing folks for information in muslim countries. bailing out hedge funds and sub prime mortgage companies also.
oh- and lest i forget- taking tax payer money to pay for our own demise- corrupt voting machines and people who run them- and rovie paying to keep the rethugs in office. huh- almost let that gem fly by. must be slipping. what was my point? oh right. americans stealing from other americans in order to put those americans under dictatorship. yes. that’s it. amazing isn’t it? we actually have fellow americans in and out of the country- gleeful at the thought of rounding us dissenters up and torturing us in internment camps. so- please tell me- who are the terrorists again? i lost track. are they our allies since most of the 9/11 hijackers were saudis? are they iraqis because we have bombed the shit out of and ruined their country for no other reason than greed? is it the iranians because they don’t want to see us bomb the shit out of their country for no other reason than greed?
or is it our fellow americans who want to destroy this country- and the planet- for no other reason than greed? you tell me. i lost track.

Its about freaking time. The NYT is reporting Abu Gonzales resigned friday. The White House will announce it today. From the NYT writeup:

His decision was not announced immediately announced, the official added, until after the president invited him and his wife to lunch at his ranch near here.
Mr. Bush has not yet chosen a replacement but will not leave the position open long, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the resignation had not yet been made public.

Both Ends Against the Middle
August 24, 2007 by Jet · 9 Comments
My tale begins with the death of a child. In Minnesota, a four year old boy swallowed part of a charm bracelet. The bracelet was a promotional giveaway that came with the purchase of Reeboks shoes. The promotion had been ongoing since 2004. The charm contained more that 90% lead.
Lead binds to other metals molecules found naturally in our bodies, like calcium, iron and zinc. Once bonded, lead makes the molecule change or function differently, such as not producing the proper enzymes and messing up the formation of hemoglobin.
The symptoms of chronic lead poisoning include neurological problems, such as reduced cognitive abilities, or nausea, abdominal pain, irritability, insomnia, metal taste in oral cavity, excess lethargy or hyperactivity, headache and, in extreme cases, seizure and coma. – Wiki
No parent wants to watch their child suffer like that.
Naturally the basic reaction to this sad story is to get the lead out, so to speak. Go after the manufacturer, and recall the product. In America, we expect accountability. Reebok stepped up and recalled the charm bracelets. The bracelets were manufactured in China.
Now let’s fast forward a year, and take a look at our Antagonist in Chief. President Bush has allied himself with China on this one. Despite the fact that lead based paint, and products with lead in any levels above 6 parts per million are outlawed in our country in order to protect our kids (and have been for decades) , Bush thinks it’s just too onerous to hold our importers to the same standards.
Sphere: Related ContentThe Bush administration has hindered regulation on two fronts, consumer advocates say. It stalled efforts to press for greater inspections of imported children’s products, and it altered the focus of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), moving it from aggressive protection of consumers to a more manufacturer-friendly approach. — McClatchy
Karl’s Kronicles…
August 21, 2007 by Sumo · 4 Comments

So are we over the bombshell of Rove leaving his Lord and Master yet? Bush’s closest and longest-serving advisor will be resigning in about 10 days. Will there be beer and pizza party’s all over the land? Drunken, naked pool party’s cropping up on every block in America? Shall the hounds of hell be released with chaos and anarchy the rule of the day? Wait! Let me pop some popcorn first…I don’t want to miss this…not a minute of it!
Let’s just see here for just a moment. It seems our Karl is grateful to have been a “witness to history.” Hmmm, well…I guess he not only witnessed it, he made it too. We all know that ol’ Karl was instrumental in shaping policy decisions and Republican campaign strategies…so that would explain how he got the moniker…”the architect” by none other than Bush himself and “Bush’s brain” by those that would criticize him. Not bad…not bad at all. He’s been doing his magic since 1993 when Bush first ran for governor of Texas. That’s a long time to be hooked at the hip with some guy. But apparently they severed the cord…because Karl needs to spend more time with his family. Oopsie!…I choked on my popcorn…now I need a swig of my root beer…ah…that’s better.
