Who’s A Nazi?

Like many of you, I enjoy a nice cup of tea now and then. It is such a calming and civil thing to do. And it got me thinking.

Those pitiful Tea Baggers can’t even enjoy their tea; all they can drink is the kool-ade.

Here’s what one of them asked Barney Frank.

As she clutched her photo of Obama with a mustache drawn onto it, she self-righteously posed this artificial raspberry flavored challenge. “Why do you continue to support a Nazi policy as Obama has expressly supported this policy…Why are you supporting it?”

Frank’s response was eloquently on target. “On what planet do you spend most of your time?”

So he answered her.  “As you stand there with a picture of the President defaced to look like Hitler, and compare the effort to increase health care to the Nazis, my answer to you is, as I’ve said before, it is a tribute to the First Amendment that this kind of vile, contemptible nonsense is so freely propagated. Ma’am, trying to have a conversation with you would be like trying to argue with a dining room table. I have no interest in doing so.”

I guess she likes to listen to Rush Limbaugh. Rush has been the most vehement pourer of the Nazi kool-ade lately. You may remember this began when Rush falsely claimed Nancy Pelosi called Town Hall shouters Nazis. She didn’t. But that’s no reason for Rush to not come unhinged from reality.

Here are some samples of his loathsome bile, from just ONE SHOW on August 6^th, followed by a classic lie at the end.

The Speaker of the House accusing people showing up at these town hall meetings of wearing swastikas — that is not insignificant, folks. That is — this woman is deranged. ….She’s basically saying that we are Nazis. She is saying that the people who oppose this are Nazis. And I’m gonna tell you what, I’m going to run down a list here later on the program, but this party — the Democrat Party, and where it’s taking this country, the radical left leadership of this party bears much more resemblance to Nazis’ policies than anything we on the right believe in at all.

It is Obama who is astroturfing. It is Obama who is manufacturing right from the White House, sending out his brownshirts to head up opposition to genuine American citizens who want no part of what Barack Obama stands for and is trying to stuff down our throats

They accuse of us being Nazis, and Obama’s got a health care logo that’s right out of Adolf Hitler’s playbook. Now, what are the similarities between the Democrat Party of today and the Nazi Party in Germany? Well, the Nazis were against big business — they hated big business. And of course we all know that they were opposed to Jewish capitalism. They were insanely, irrationally against pollution…. they banned smoking. …and they were for cradle-to-grave nationalized healthcare.

This is why I have always bristled when I hear people claim conservatism gets close to Nazism. It is liberalism that’s the closest you can get to Nazism and socialism. It’s all bundled up under the socialist banner. There are far more similarities between Nancy Pelosi and Adolf Hitler than between these people showing up at town halls to protest a Hitler-like policy that’s being heralded like a Hitler-like logo.

Adolf Hitler, like Barack Obama, also ruled by dictate.

Oh, another similarity. Obama is asking citizens to rat each other out like Hitler did.

These are just a few examples. Believe me, there are plenty more.

Here’s the kicker from August 10^th: “Nobody was comparing Obama to Hitler.”

What the…?  So Nazis were against big business, pollution, and smoking? Anything you say, Rush. Poor Rush has been obsessed with comparing liberals and democrats to Nazis. He was also calling all of us who disagree with him kooks.

Those of us who have a basic understanding of psychology can clearly see the projection being displayed here.

If you listen to Rush, you’d think Hitler was the first person who had the notion of universal health care.

Not surprisingly, that’s not true. Germans had the right idea before Adolf, before Paul von Hindenburg, and before the Kaiser, even. It was Otto von Bismarck, not the Nazis, who established a national health care system in Germany. And he was not a socialist or a Nazi. He was the Chancellor of Germany and Minister-President of Prussia. He was also an anti-socialist aristocratic, kind of like George W. Bush, but more compassionate. The Bismarck model featured regulated insurance coverage for everyone. The key factor was coverage, not profit.

Somebody must have told Rush about Bismarck, because recently Rush declared Bismarck was a “lefty”.

Let’s make something clear. Socialists, liberals, conservatives, Republicans, Democrats, or even American Reich Wing fascists are not Nazis.

However, American Reich Wing fascists share more than a few of the Nazis’ attitudes toward others. They despise democracy, liberalism, the arts, humanities, unions, real socialists, intellectuals, ethnic and racial minorities, homosexuals, and black presidents.

It can be tempting to call them Nazis by their adoration of militarism and unquestioning worship of law enforcement.  We may be reminded of Nazis when we see them embrace the anger and hatred fed to them by their authoritarian leaders.

Like the Nazis of old, they are excited into a flag waving frenzy when their country invades countries that never attacked or threatened them. The American Reich Wingers angrily attacked anyone who questioned the Bush/Cheney wars and illegal surveillance programs as unpatriotic or worse. The RW’s also supported spying on peace groups, regarding them as potential terrorists or threats to America.

Yes, the Nazis did all this and more, but our rabid Righties in America are still not the same as Nazis. There are differences that need to be examined.

American Reich Wing fascists are so ignorant they don’t know what real Nazis were like. Real Nazis would scoff at them and regard the tea bagging, Fox-indoctrinated, ditto head imbeciles as mere oafish amateurs, corporatist stooges and useful idiots.

American Reich Wingers are for the most part a cheap imitation by comparison.

Most of the two-bit, tin-horn, dimwitted American Reich Wing fascists pale when compared to the original Nazis. Sure, American fascists destroyed our economy and devastated the middle class and public sector. And yes, they engendered world-wide anger, resentment and disappointment towards their country by belligerent war-mongering and war making. It just wasn’t accomplished on as grand a scale.

Our RW’s are only capable of implementing the destructive aspects of the Nazis. They build nothing to benefit their fellow citizens. They contribute nothing to advance education, health care, jobs, workers’ rights, public works, culture, and services for the unemployed and homeless.

The original Nazis could at least build something. Apart from the munitions and armaments they did construct Olympic stadiums, railroads, the autobahn and infrastructure for their country.

The horrible destruction they wrought came from their hatefulness, brutal authoritarian police state, and wars of aggression.

Thankfully, most Americans will never be fascists. Very few even call themselves Nazis.

But fascists live in America and they don’t need to be a majority to do their harm. Look at the type of folks at Blackwater/Xe. The rest of us need to watch them closely and do our best to keep them out of power.

The overreaction by the crazed racists to a black president is bad enough.

The horror of it all is these angry, frightened, ignorant people are capable of becoming even more dangerous. As the abortion doctor killers, Pittsburgh cop killer, Holocaust Memorial killer, and thousands of wannabes seethe in their hatred, all they need in order to be set loose on innocent Americans is another Dick Cheney in the White House with his corporate media propagandists calling those who dissent socialists or communists, or… Nazis. It doesn’t matter. Stupid Americans have proven they don’t know the difference anyway.

And right now, another Dick Cheney, or worse, is thinking about running for president.

But we liberals, Socialists, Communists, Anarchists, and yes, kooks as well, have learned so much from the rabid Righties lately, haven’t we?

Let’s review our most important lesson from those town hall shouters.

We learned Obama is a Democrat, foreigner, liberal, Marxist, authoritarian, Communist, Socialist, AND a Nazi…all at once. His wallet must be so full of membership cards he’ll never need to find a chair to sit on.

They are marginalized, therefore they are bitter.

Reading MSNBC’s First Read this morning, I was struck right between the eyes by one section regarding the rightwing nutters coming out of the woodwork and why:

They were irritated with the direction of the country after the 2008 election, with a man as president they didn’t vote for, and with a Congress ruled by Democrats. They were angry with being out of power and having — because of being in the minority — what they felt was no say.

That, m’dear reader, is the crux of the problem. They are just pissed the fuck off that they LOST control of the government.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..fuck all you rightwing nutters..twice even. Suck it up and deal with it, like we had to do for eight-long-fucking-years under the Bush cartel.

Perhaps they all aren’t astroturfer’s after all. They are just highly pissed off that they are marginalized and have no real say anymore. All their representatives were either voted out or hanging onto districts thick with rightwing nutters when the majority of the state voted blue in 2006 and ‘08. So, like spoiled children all they can do is make a scene and scream at the top of their lungs. Again, from First Read:

But there was no indication that these folks were so-called “Astroturf” grassroots supporters. There were many who were affiliated with the tea parties and even LaRouchies likening Obama to Hitler. One LaRouche organizer said he was there to “cause some trouble.”

They are the true believers. They were also big-time Fox News viewers and Glenn Beck disciples, hammering home the perception that this is where these people get their news, er, information. One mother-daughter combo — unprompted — enthusiastically boasted, “Fox rules!” “It’s all we ever watch!”

These fuckwits will not go away quietly, they are going to raise  holy hell every chance they get. Because, that is all they have…acting like a 3 year old in the grocery store that didn’t get his way. They will be constantly whipped up by the likes of Limbaugh, Dick Armey and their ilk.

So we need to fight fire with a gigantic firehose. From Politico:

A new coalition on Thursday launched $12 million in television ads to support President Barack Obama’s health reform plan, in the opening wave of a planned tens of millions of dollars this fall.

The new group, funded largely by the pharmaceutical industry, is called Americans for Stable Quality Care. It includes some odd bedfellows: the American Medical Association, FamiliesUSA, the Federation of American Hospitals, PhRMA and SEIU, the service employees’ union.

The decision of labor and progressive groups to join with industry groups could draw new heat about the president’s package from the left.

The ads began airing at about 11 a.m. ET Thursday.

At this point..I don’t give a shit who does it, I just want the nutters exposed and then marginalized once again. They lost, they are now the minority and as such get nothing but a lump of coal in their stockings. From Politico again:

The official provides a little more back story: “These groups were part of a looser coalition that started back in January that focused on the links between health reform and the economy. Now that the debate is turning on what health reform means for the individual, they felt the need to launch a new front that addresses some of those particulars while debunking some of the myths that are floating around. Plus, these groups recognize that their collective voice packs more punch than if they were to just speak out individually.”

As long as they have money and connections..go for it..slap the shit out of the reichwing jackasses..you have my permission.

Reich Wing American

I have often used certain words or phrases that are not found in corporate media. Many of you do so as well, and I’m not speaking of obscenities. There is accepted meaning and usage of words that have yet to appear in a dictionary.

One example we use out here in the free speech zone is the word “corporatism”. We all know what it is. It is the nexus of Big Money and government. Anyone paying a lick of attention these days is well aware that our government has been co-opted into a government of, by, and for the corporations.

There are also dozens of descriptive and/or derogatory words used by political bloggers and activists to label the persons of the opposite political persuasion. Here’s a shout out to all you wing-nuts and lefty wackos out there. For some reason or another, liberal and conservative don’t seem to convey the intended impact anymore.

I have no problem with little old church ladies, or reserved, incurious, old gentlemen who like to think of themselves as conservatives. Especially if they look at others who are different or foreign and simply shrug, “It takes all kinds, but that’s not for me.” We all have relatives like that.

However, there are some others who also identify themselves as conservatives, and they are not a bit like our meek unassuming relatives. They are so far to the right they would be in the SS and Gestapo if they were in Nazi Germany. I’m not talking about Republicans, although these angry bigots, sociopaths, and racists would never vote for a Democrat. These are the idiots who like to say they love America, but would be willing to kill fellow citizens who disagree with them.

They are arrogant and fanatical true believers in their own self-righteousness. They disdain the very notion of equality because, in their mind, they are truly superior to others. I have been using my own term for these hateful, ignorant, intolerant authoritarians. I call them Reich Wingers.

We’ve seen them all over. They are the Klansmen who lynched black men and their supporters.

They are the cops clubbing union members in a picket line, or spraying tear gas into the faces of peaceful protesters.

They are the bullies who would, without provocation, beat or murder gay men who just happen to be in the area.

They are the thugs who would harass and assault Hippies for simply minding their own business.

You get the idea

Yes, and I would also add to that list any corporatist authoritarians who would lie and deceive a nation into a war for their own re-election, power and profit.

Speaking of Bush and Cheney, remember their little “legacy tour” between Election Day and Inauguration Day? They were frantically attempting to get in the last word about what a glorious success their leadership had been.

My favorite part was the repetition of their favorite lie; that they kept us safe. Right. We’re not counting, of course, the attacks of September 11th. Remember the corporate TV networks showing them crowing about there being no further terrorist attacks on the “homeland”?

Maybe we’re not supposed to remember the anthrax murders and accompanying terror. Or is it a rule that only Islamic extremists are qualified to be terrorists? Or, maybe it has something to do with the fact that the intended targets of the anthrax were Democrats and media figures. It seems it’s not terrorism if it’s directed at liberals.

“That’s crazy talk,” I can hear some of you saying. Well, let’s have a look at another case.

Last Monday Jim David Adkisson was sentenced to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to two counts of murder he committed in a church in Tennessee. He also wounded six others at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church in Knoxville.

Why did he do it? Was he a schizophrenic hearing voices in his head telling him to kill witches and demons?

No, he gunned down innocent people because he thought they were liberals.

He is not insane, at least by legal definition. And the voices he was influenced by were those of fellow conservative hate mongers. Police found books and material in his home by Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, and Bill O’Reilly.

We have a clear picture of how and what these Reich Wing nuts think. Adkisson released a sort of suicide note he’d written before his rampage. After complaining about not getting a good job, he explained his violent hateful act as a political expression. We see him refer to the book about 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America by Bernard Goldberg. Here are some excerpts from his “manifesto”.

“Lately I’ve been feeling helpless in our war on terrorism. But I realized I could engage the terrorists’ allies here in America. The best allies they’ve got. The Democrats! The democrats have done everything they can do to tie our hands in this War on Terror. They’re all a bunch of traitors. They want America to loose this war for reasons I can not understand. It makes me soooo mad!”

Why is that, you may wonder. He tells us:

“The worst problem America faces today is Liberalism…Liberals have attacked every major institution that made America great. From the Boy Scouts to the Military, from education to Religion. The major news outlets have become the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party. Liberals are evil, they embrace the tenets of Karl Marx, they’re Marxist, socialist, communists.”

Wherever would an American get such enlightenment? Or would that just be Reich Wing “entertainment”? Hitler would have loved this guy.

He devoted one page to his venomous diatribe against the “Ultra-Liberal” Unitarians.

Just to be clear, he gives us three points on the page titled, “Know This If Nothing Else”.

“1. This was a hate Crime:
I hate the damn left-wing liberals. There is a vast left-wing conspiracy in this country and these liberals are working together to attack every decent and honorable institution in the nation, trying to turn this country into a communist state. Shame on them.

2. This was a Political Protest:
I’m protesting the liberal Supreme Court Justices for giving the terrorists at GITMO constitutional rights. I’m protesting the major news outlets ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, PBS, for being the propaganda wing of the Democrat Party. It’s criminal what they’re getting away with. They’re traitors! They must be stopped. I’m protesting the DNC for running such a radical leftist candidate. Osama Hussein Obama, yo mama. No experience, no brains, a joke. Dangerous to America. Hell he looks like Curious George!

3. This was a Symbolic Killing:
Who I wanted to kill was every Democrat in the Senate and House, the 100 people in Bernard Goldberg’s book. I’d like to kill everyone in the main stream media. But I know these people were inaccesible to me. I couldn’t get to the generals and high ranking officers in the Marxist movement so I went after the foot soldiers, the chickenshit liberals that vote in these traitorous people. Someone had to get the ball rolling. I volunteered. I hope others do the same. It’s the only way we can rid America of this cancerous pestilence!”

He thoughtfully wraps things up in the last page, “In Conclusion”.

“No one gets out of this world alive so I’ve chosen to skip the bad years of poverty. I know my life is going downhill fast from here. The future looks bleak. I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired. I’m absolutely fed up.

So I thought I’d do something good for the country. Kill Democrats til the cops kill me…Liberals are a pest like termites. Millions of them. Each little bite contributes to the downfall of this great nation. The only way we can rid ourselves of this evil is kill them in the streets. Kill them where they gather. I’d like to encourage other like minded people to do what I’ve done.”

At least he won’t be skipping those last bad years of poverty, in prison. And to top it off he’s unrepentant. Fellow inmate Matthew David Chamberlain said Adkisson insisted that the motive behind the attack was purely ideological.

“He said if he got out (of prison), he’d do it again,” Chamberlain said.

So, there you have it. In his mind he’s a good Christian American patriot.

Adkisson is certainly they type I would label a Reich Winger. And he’s something more, too. We all know what this hateful sociopath is. So why do you suppose the corporate media will not call Adkisson a domestic terrorist?

According to the Lord God, age undetermined, he began to experience “homo erotic thoughts” in the Garden of Eden only moments after the creation of Adam and Eve.”I always wondered why I created a male first,” God told Robertson. “I could have created a woman, but for some odd reason I just wasn’t interested in the female gender Now I understand. In God’s official revision of the Old Testament mythology, Adam and Eve were driven out of Paradise in a fit of jealousy because Adam took took a sexual interest in Eve, not because Adam and Eve picked and tasted the forbidden fruit as often repeated in monotheistic fairy tales.

“I did everything for him, ” God complained, his voice raw with emotion. “I molded him out of clay, I breathed air into his lungs, I gave him a soul. And then he didn’t even write. He didn’t even call. He didn’t even send flowers! I feel so cheated! I feel so used!”

Considering God’s most recent confession, much of the Old Testament insanity against gay relationships must be considered in a new light. In a similar vein, those writings which delegate women to second class ciizenship or even property must be viewed in the proper context, that context being the Lord’s envious nature. According to psychiatric literature, many of the most rabid homophobes are those individuals who are either uncomfortable with, or trying to deny their own homosexual inclinations. As a result of the Lord God’s emergence from the closet we now have a more thorough understanding of the incidents in Sodom and Gomorrah.

When the staff members of Americans United For Separation of Church and State asked the IRS to investigate the Reverend Wiley Drake, Vice President of the Southern Baptist Convention for what they believed were Drake’s violation(s) of federal tax law, Americans United had no idea that they would soon find themselves on the receiving end of Imprectatory Prayers in which Drake and his ilk were openly praying for the physical harm and even deaths of American United Staff members. For those of you who missed this twisted imbecility-and we’re bound and determined that you won’t–Mister Drake and his demented followers went right to the Book of Psalms to find violent imagery which they promptly transformed into the Christian versions of death curses. DISGUSTED

I always thought that the far right, so called “religious right” (I just can’t bring myself to call them Christians anymore) were dead set against social programs and social spending. Well, as it turns out, it appears as if they don’t mind social spending as long as they’re the beneficiaries of those social programs. And I am not talking about the way in which they want to eradicate the wall between Church and State which prevents the government from favoring one faith over the other. Although I am certain that is their idee fixe.

No, I am talking about right wingers who complain about social spending by established programs when it benefits the lower classes and racial minorities but who have no problem when it comes to playing the system for their own ends. I recently had the dubious pleasure of encountering people such as these, and the lengths to which they will go to play the system are astounding. One of the individuals who I encountered is a dyed in the wool Republican, a member of he Religious right, who is currently attempting to apply for Medicaid. This comes after an extended use of Medicare. Having bilked that program for God only knows how many thousands of dollars, he is now attempting to apply for Medicaid and the length to which he will twist the system are nothing less than amazing. Assets are being shuffled from family member to family member. Possessions are being purchased in family members’ names so that he won’t have too many. Luxuries are being Orwellianized into necessities, ad nauseam. To make the situation even worse, this same individual sees no contradiction in his attitudes and behavior as he issues veiled remarks which demonize and blame the poor and minorities for their own poverty and inequality.
