Klanservative Education: the Re-Segregation Movement

March 13, 2010 by Jolly Roger · Leave a Comment

The Rushpubliscums are always claiming that they want to “take us back” to some kind of American Utopia that they claim existed before them damn libruls came around with their COMMANIST notions about tolerance and economic justice.

I know that Rushpubliscums often lie, but in this one particular case, they’re telling the truth: they do indeed want to take us back to an era that THEY saw as Utopian. That era featured things like restaurant seating, movie theater seating, public transportation seating, etc. that was strictly segregated along racial lines.

Education in that era was also strictly segregated by race. One of the things you never hear mentioned about school busing for integration was the way in which it was once used for SEGREGATION. In Southern cities, an African-ancestried child would be bused for hours to take him or her to a “colored” school, no matter where he or she may have actually lived. The people doing the busing justified it by drawing up school districts that often looked like snakes, reaching way down into any given area to make sure that any “coloreds” wound up in the same school district. The “Separate but Equal” racial policy of much of America was, of course, a joke; the “colored” school districts were usually desperately poor, and barely functional as educational institutions. This led to a cycle of permanent poverty for millions of Americans of African ancestry, as the hopelessness they found at home followed them to school.

The Brown vs. Board of Education changed all that back in 1954, as the Federal Government began to enforce integration throughout Dixie. And Dixie responded as one might have figured they would, as white rednecks began to vote as a bloc for the racist candidates of the reformed Rushpubliscum Party. Saint Ronnie cast the racist direction of the Rushpubliscums in stone in 1980, when he kicked off his Presidential campaign in Philadelphia, Mississippi-the site of the murders of 3 college students working to register minority voters in 1964. The message Saint Ronnie was peddling couldn’t have been any clearer, and the Rushpubliscums have run with it ever since. From Saint Ronnie through Chimpy, Rushpubliscum Administrations have sought to loosen up Federal oversight of how states treat minority populations: in the recently-ended Reign of Error, the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department was almost non-existent and filed almost no lawsuits over racial discrimination.

The result of all the Klanservative race pandering was easy to predict, and now we’re seeing proof positive of the expected outcome. Let’s take a minute to have a look at Wayne County, North Carolina, vanguard of the newest trend in the Klanservative South.

It is stunning, how far backwards the Rushpubliscums have managed to drag us as a society.

A high school in Wayne County, N.C., has a student population that is poor and 99 percent black. That’s not the case at other public high schools in the rural county. And that has prompted a civil rights inquiry — and complaints about what one leader calls “re-segregation.”

Goldsboro High is a classic American high school, with white columns, a two-story brick facade, and transoms over the classroom doors. It was where, 60 years ago, a teenage Carl Kasell took drama from an energetic teacher named Andy Griffith.

Now, students like Michael King roam the hallways.

“All the students here at Goldsboro High School have had a good opportunity to do anything they wanted to,” King said. “Some just choose not to take the opportunity.”

King is a success story, to be sure. He lives with his mother and brother; their only family income is her disability check. He hopes to go to college. But most of his peers won’t escape the cycle of poverty here.

Principal Patricia Burden says that at Goldsboro, “I think you have students who truly believe that, ‘This is the way that I live, and this is the way I will continue to live.’ And so therefore, they do not have the broad perspective, on the fact that it does not have to be this way.”

About 80 percent of the students at Goldsboro High are poor, and 99 percent are African-American. Other high schools in America have similar student bodies. But what makes Goldsboro High different is that the town and the school district are roughly 50-50 black-white.

The other five high schools in Wayne County are majority white or close to it — and don’t have nearly the same levels of poverty.

The Rev. William Barber, a pastor at the Greenleaf Christian Church, is the president of the North Carolina NAACP. “We have apartheid education in Wayne County,” Barber said.

Barber and the NAACP filed a complaint against Wayne County Schools in December. They say the school board violated the 1964 Civil Rights Act when it created attendance areas that put the majority of the poor, black students in one school zone and failed to provide students in that zone with equal educational opportunities.

“This is an ugly case, a wrong case — we believe an illegal case,” Barber said. “The NAACP and our friends, we had to challenge it, because it is so endemic of what can happen when you leave local school boards alone in the South to do their business.”

Barber calls the school board’s actions discrimination. And he also uses another word: re-segregation.

Rick Pridgen, chairman of the Wayne County School Board, balks at the idea of re-segregation.

“I don’t even know if that’s a word in the dictionary, to be honest with you,” he said. “It may be.”

Pridgen also defends the board’s school zoning map.

“The schools have nothing to do with, and can’t change, the demographics of the city,” he said. “The schools have absolutely nothing to do with where people choose to live.”

The civil rights divisions at the departments of Education and Justice are coordinating a federal investigation. Civil rights advocates see Wayne County as a test case for the Obama administration’s stated rededication to civil rights.

Mark Dorosin is a senior attorney with the Center for Civil Rights at the University of North Carolina.

“The Wayne County case is particularly egregious,” Dorosin said. “But it is also symbolic, or emblematic, of the trends we’re seeing, not only throughout North Carolina but across the country.”

Neither the Justice Department nor the Education Department would comment on the ongoing investigation in Wayne County. The local school board says it will cooperate fully with the investigation.

I don’t think we can fully get rid of this cancer until the selfish racists of the “Lamest Generation” pass from the scene. But how much damage will they have done to us before they can be swept aside? There are still too many of them to count in Congress, and a lot of their younger underlings wait to take their places.

Yeah….. Saint Ronnie sure did bring America back. Back to the frigging Middle Ages.

John Mayer’s penis is not post-racial…

February 12, 2010 by Angry Black Bitch · 2 Comments

RaceRelations1Several folks have asked a bitch to comment about John Mayer’s penis and it’s white supremacist behavior.

I could have lived my entire life happy as hell without the image of John Mayer’s penis sporting a white hood during a Klan rally.

Wince.

But lots of folks have been talking about Mayer’s bigoted penis…and his home training fail interview for Playboy in which he indulged in a session of TMI disclosures above and beyond his confession that his penis is not post-racial.

A confession – A bitch could be behind John Mayer at the Walgreens and my ass wouldn’t recognize him.

And a question – If a frustrated failed blues guitarist who is unable to handle the success of his soft rock career, because he hasn’t let go of the unrealistic Slowhand fantasy he developed while attending Berklee, has a home training fail in the forest did it really even happen?

Blink.

The Gruppenführer vs. The Geezer

February 10, 2010 by Jolly Roger · 1 Comment

arpaio1John McCain may have fatally injured his chances for remaining a Rushpubliscum politician a couple of years ago, when he backed Chimpy’s immigration reform.

Backing immigration reform isn’t a real good idea for an Arizona Rushpubliscum. The Klanservatives of Arizona prefer their politicians to be racist xenophobes, which is why Gruppenführer Arpaio looks increasingly like he’s going to be their next Gauleiter Governor.

In the meantime, the Gruppenführer is doing his part to purify the Arizona Rushpubliscum Party by throwing his weight behind J.D. Hayworth, a candidate who is much more to the liking of the racist, xenophobic “teabagger” set that dominates Arizona Rushpubliscum politics these days.

I never thought Dick Armey, Caribou Barbie, and I could agree on anything, but we agree on this most narrow of issues. McCain is a better Senatorial candidate than Hayworth is.

The Gruppenführer’s endorsement leaves no doubt as to that.

As expected, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is lending his internationally known name to Republican Senate challenger J.D. Hayworth’s national campaign fundraising efforts. Arpaio and Hayworth are both vocal GOP critics of illegal immigration and, significantly, Arpaio has been feuding with incumbent Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., for years.

From a Feb 2 letter signed by Arpaio:

“I just wish Senator McCain had run as hard against that dirty subhuman Barack Obama as he is against a loyal Sturmer conservative like J.D. That could have prevented the dirty darkie’s election harmful, liberal agenda we are all now suffering through.

You have been a great supporter of mine. Now I am hoping you will become a great supporter of J.D.’s. I have attended rallies and burnt crosses with known him for many years. I trust him.

“And I know he is a proper Aryan like me exactly what we need in Washington, D.C. right now.”

In December, Arpaio headlined a benefit to help pay off legal bills Hayworth accumulated while preparing for a possible federal investigation in connection with the Jack Abramoff lobbyist-corruption scandal. In 2008, Arpaio campaigned on behalf of McCain presidential rival Mitt Romney in the key early caucus and primary states of Iowa and New Hampshire.

In a pre-emptive move, McCain on Jan. 14 touted the endorsements of eight other Republican sheriffs from around Arizona. McCain also has secured the support of big Republican names such as former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts and former House Majority Leader Dick Armey.

The ideal way to deal with this would be to get rid of McCain entirely, but….. there are worse outcomes than McCain. Obviously.

Given the affection of Arizona Ruushpubliscums for the Gruppenführer, I really have to wonder if they all don’t have white sheets and hoods hanging in their closets. Seriously. They think the Gruppenführer is such a great Sheriff, while kidnappers run rampant in the Gruppenführer’s back yard. So it couldn’t be because of his law enforcement prowess, could it?

No, of course it isn’t. And we know exactly what it IS about the Gruppenführer that his minions hold so dear.

Two Tales of the Tea Party Convention

February 5, 2010 by Jolly Roger · 2 Comments

tancredoAnd now, we lay to rest forever the laughable notion that some of our winger compatriots have about there being a “liberal media bias” in this country.

First, let’s look at CNN’s coverage of the Tom Tancredo address to the “teabagger” convention.

Tom Tancredo opened what’s being billed as the first Tea Party Convention with a bang.

The former congressman from Colorado and 2008 Republican presidential candidate blasted President Obama, saying “people who could not even spell the word ‘vote’, or say it in English, put a committed socialist ideologue in the White House. His name is Barack Hussein Obama.”

Tancredo made his comments as he gave the kickoff speech for the convention, which is being held at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center in Nashville.

Tancredo’s speech received polite applause among the 600 attendees at the convention.

“So the race for America is on right now. The president and his left-wing allies in Congress are going to look at every opportunity to destroy the Constitution before we have a chance to save it. So put your running shoes on. Because I’ll tell you, I’ve heard we need a revolution. My friends, we already had it. We lost. I mean, what happened to us in that last election was a revolution,” said Tancredo, discussing the 2008 presidential contest.

Tancredo also slammed that election’s Republican presidential nominee, saying “thank God John McCain lost the election.”

The former congressman known for his strong opposition to illegal immigration also attacked “the cult of multiculturalism, aided by leftists, liberals all over who don’t have the same idea about America as we do.”

Pretty damned offensive all by itself, I’m sure you’ll agree. But there was one important little item in Tancredo’s speech that never made it to CNN’s coverage. We have to rely on an ACTUAL liberal media outlet, Raw Story, to give us the real message that Tancredo brought to his teabagger brethren.

The opening night speaker at the Tea Party convention suggested a return to a “literacy test” to protect America from presidents like Obama — a segregation-era method employed by southern US states to keep blacks from voting.

In his speech Thursday to attendees, former Republican congressman Tom Tancredo invoked the loaded pre-civil rights era buzzword, saying that President Barack Obama was elected because “we do not have a civics, literacy test before people can vote in this country.”

Southern states used literacy tests as part of an effort to deny suffrage to African American voters prior to Johnson-era civil rights laws.

Now how on Earth could CNN have possibly missed THAT? A man calls for a return to Jim Crow-and they don’t think it’s newsworthy? Tancredo has made a pretty startling suggestion here, don’t you think?

Yes, let’s quickly return to a literacy test, where questions to be found on the version given to minorities included gems like “how many suds are there in a bar of soap?” The Rushpubliscums wouldn’t have to do any more voter caging that way. They could also save a lot of money they’d normally have to spend for payoffs to Diebold and ESS.

Now I want every “independent” voter thinking about joining the “teabaggers” to reflect hard on just who it is you’re thinking about joining. Tancredo has abandoned all pretense of this being anything but what it is: a bunch of white racists, angry that a man of color was elected to the WHITE House. The MSM is trying its damnedest to portray these racist radicals as fed-up “everymen,” but that, they most certainly are not. They only lack a white sheet, a gallon of gas, and a cross.

Do you want to stand with Tom Tancredo so you can “send a message” in 2010?

By request, Cynthia Davis’ latest verbal malfunction…

February 5, 2010 by Angry Black Bitch · Leave a Comment

racism calvinA certain Tamara from Rolla has asked a bitch for my thoughts on Missouri State Rep. Cynthia Davis’ latest verbal malfunction.

I assume you are referring to her thoughts on the nutritional habits of black people that she was kind enough to share with a woman of color testifying during a recent House Health Care Policy Committee meeting.

That meeting where she referred to “your people” and “your community” while addressing the witness, right?

Right.

Fired Up Missouri reports that Davis, well known for her opinion that hunger is a positive motivator for children, said something close to, “We should revamp the food stamp program so people who get food stamps can’t buy junk food like potato chips and chocolate milk”…while she was eating potato chips herself.

Sigh.

Tamara from Rolla, what can a bitch say to that shit?

Cynthia Davis averages a verbal malfunction a week while the Missouri legislature is in session.

That’s what she does.

I’ve decided that her continued platform as a Rep. who apparently wants to be a State Senator says more about those who vote for her than the woman herself.

Clearly a majority of her constituents want Cynthia Davis to average a verbal malfunction a week during session.

I can’t figure out why they want that shit…but I get the message.

Pause…consider…continue.

Chocolate milk and potato chips?

Lawd, have mercy…

Chris Matthews, post-racialism and acceptable blackness…

January 28, 2010 by Angry Black Bitch · 2 Comments

Let’s jump right on in.spanking-cupid

A bitch didn’t see it…I fell asleep watching the Blues hockey game (we were robbed!!) and wouldn’t have been watching the State of the Union on MSNBC anyway because Chris Mathews works my nerves…but apparently Mr. Matthews defined post-racialness on air last night.

Matthews…
“I was trying to think about who he was tonight. It’s interesting: he is post-racial, by all appearances. I forgot he was black tonight for an hour. You know, he’s gone a long way to become a leader of this country, and passed so much history, in just a year or two. I mean, it’s something we don’t even think about. I was watching, I said, wait a minute, he’s an African-American guy in front of a bunch of other white people. And here he is president of the United States and we’ve completely forgotten that tonight — completely forgotten it. I think it was in the scope of his discussion. It was so broad-ranging, so in tune with so many problems, of aspects, and aspects of American life that you don’t think in terms of the old tribalism, the old ethnicity. It was astounding in that regard. A very subtle fact. It’s so hard to talk about. Maybe I shouldn’t talk about it, but I am. I thought it was profound that way.”

Cough.

This is America, the land of rich white men who can say anything anytime about anyone without consequences and the television networks that love them, so a bitch doesn’t expect Matthews to get called out for this one.

As a matter of fact, fuck it…why call him out for clarifying his use of post-racial for the masses?

Chris Matthews is all for a post-racial America…hell, he’s been trying to speak it into being since the Democratic primary season began two years ago. He believes that progress is made when folks who can’t deal with difference are able to simply not see difference and thus no longer discriminate based on difference because they can’t act on something they can’t see. That’s post-racialism for ya!

Usually achieving post-racialism is the responsibility of the person or people of color involved in a situation. The same is true here – Matthews explains that Obama has allowed for the fog of post-racialism to set in during the State of the Union…and properly obscure his vision…by being a leader, presenting a broad-reaching discussion and blah, blah followed by blah. As a result, President Obama has proven himself to be acceptably black by creating an environment in which folks like Matthews can forget that he’s…um, black.

Pause…sip coffee…continue.

Now, lots of folks like this post-racial shit because they like to think that they don’t see color or difference…many of them are trying not to see color or difference…and most of them prefer working toward that goal of non-seeingness because it is easier than working on their issues with race and difference.

A bitch calls that bullshit…post-racialist like Matthews are more than delusional, they are insulting and ig’nant with it.

By his very words Matthews is admitting that he’s got serious issues with race…not the he looks different from me or she sounds so black kind of issues but rather he looks difference and she sounds so black so that makes me uncomfortable because I fundamentally associate blackness with inadequacy kind of issues.

And that, my friends, is my problem with post-racialism – the theory that they only way folks like Chris Matthews can be comfortable with a black man in leadership is by not seeing him as a black man because they fundamentally don’t trust the worthiness of a black man in leadership.

As for acceptable blackness…well, I’m on the record about that shit and damn it all to hell and back if Matthews didn’t prove my point on that shit last night. Acceptable blackness is achieved by not being black.

My response is to say it loud…I’m black and I’m proud.

And if the only way Chris Matthews can deal with that and maintain respect is to ignore it or try to set it aside or sit back and wait for me to create a post-racial fog so his vision is properly obscured from seeing the disturbitude of my chocolate brown skin and fantabulous Afro…well, then he can kiss my black ass.

Different doesn’t mean lesser than.

And America won’t be post-racial until Americans do the inner work on that.

Next up, the State of the Union (FYI, it’s not post-racial).

Downfall of the Gruppenführer?

January 13, 2010 by Jolly Roger · 2 Comments

Just about any cop who thinks that his gun and badge make him a God is breaking the law himself. All of us know of such a cop, and most of the time these jerks get by with it.

The ones who don’t get by with it are the high-profile types, like tough cop-turned-convicted felon (ex-Sheriff) Gerald Hege in North Carolina. The guy who was so popular for his souped-up cruiser and his pink county jail narrowly missed doing a good bit of time in jail himself for embezzling from public funds.

You know who Hege’s role model is, don’t you?

arpaioUh-huh. Hege consciously set out to emulate none other than Joe Arpaio. And by all appearances, he may well have done exactly that.

The chief financial officer for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has been summoned to appear this week before a federal grand jury that’s examining whether Sheriff Joe Arpaio and others on his staff abused their power.

Loretta Barkell, who manages the sheriff’s $271 million budget, said Monday the FBI asked her to appear at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the federal courthouse in downtown Phoenix.

It isn’t illegal to be a racist. As far as I know, there is also no law barring Nazis from law enforcement. However, Nazis with a badge tend to be dirty as hell, and I am certain that old law-and-order Joe is no exception. Let us hope that, at long last, this racist piece of shit is brought down. Maybe he can go stay in his desert tent city for awhile with all those brown skinned people he packs the place with. It’ll do him a lot of good.

And it’ll definitely do the rest of us a lot of good as well.

Home Training Fail of the week…

November 12, 2009 by Angry Black Bitch · Leave a Comment

A bitch is starting a new feature – Home Training Fail of the week!spanking-cupid

It may need to be expanded to Home Training Fail of the day…and, given the current fubarity surrounding health care reform, it could even go hourly…but we’ll kick it off with the home training fail of the week and see how things go from there.

I’ll get shit started with the Lou Dobbs.

Pause…sip coffee…continue.

Yep, Dobbs is a living a home training fail…shit, a bitch suspects he’s got HTF altered DNA.

It seems that Mr. Dobbs has decided to “be a leader” in a “national conversation” about immigration, jobs, health care, climate change and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan — as well as “our now-weakened capitalist economy.”

Blink.

Yes!

Oh, the gods are feeling generous… ‘tis like Festivus just broke out all over the place!

Lou Dobbs getting his Mr. Independent on in 2010 is more than just mana from political blog heaven (can you say guaranteed content, chil’ren?)…but it’ll also provide the masses with a constant loud ass hell and visual as a motherfucker reminder of what The Man really means when they use code language like “traditional Americans” and “traditional family values.”

Fantabulous!

And if Dobbs lands at FOX…even better.

This bitch would buy tickets to a Beck v. Dobbs cage fight…

…and I know my ass isn’t alone there (wink).

Anyone else have a home training fail you’d like to add to the list?

the real face of america

July 23, 2009 by Betmo · 4 Comments

in-this-photo-taken-by-a-002there has been much talk about ‘post racial’ america lately, especially in lieu of the last election. i never believed it for a second. anyone who saw any of sarah palin’s crowds knew better. watching pat buchanan on the rachel maddow show- or anywhere for that matter- and his sister bay buchanan on msnbc it really brings home the reality that the republican party is full of racist bigots. trust me- so are the so called ‘liberals.’ one only has to happen upon a local NOW meeting to realize that women of any shade other than lily white- not welcomed.

even so, i was shocked that professor henry louis gates, jr. was arrested recently at his home. shocked because unlike his neighbors or the local police thug department- i had actually seen professor gates on tv and knew how tirelessly he works to bring folks together. the bitch of it is- the police obviously arrested him to make a point- doesn’t matter what your credentials are in america, if you are not white or a white male- we still own you. listening to the recent ‘testimony’ that was the farce of a confirmation hearing for judge sotomayor, well, that slaps the point home too- non whites aren’t welcomed in government at any level. the obstruction in the congress has more to do with having a black president than it does his policies because the man has pretty much been following the cheney style of government.

so, will america wake up and smell the coffee? nope. americans will continue to ignore everything at their own peril. today it was professor gates- tomorrow it could be you.

i don’t tend to be subtle when it comes to blogging.  unlike john mccain, i genuinely try to be a straight talkin’ person because honestly, i don’t think i have room in my head to remember so many lies.  apparently, he doesn’t either.  but i digress.  there is no other way to put this so here goes- america is fighting a third war- here in america.  it is the 2nd civil war- and it doesn’t pit north against south- it pits right against left; rich against poor.  the right has declared war on ‘liberals’ and all one has to do is listen to hate radio; faux news; and, apparently, congress where bachman recently wanted to revive mccarthyism against members of congress and americans on the left.  make no mistake- and i am deadly serious- these people want to eradicate liberals and democrats.  by any means necessary.  democratic party headquarters in denver were recently vandalized and numerous death threats against senator obama have come out- and the secret service have half assedly investigated a few.

the sad part is- people in this country middle and left- really believe that voting is going to work and that everything is going to be alright again.  if the last 8 years haven’t proven that this country isn’t about business and politics as usual- i am wasting my breath.  make no mistake- america as we knew it is over and those neighbors you thought you knew- well, take another look.
