Sibel Edmonds still blowing that whistle..

February 20, 2008 by Dusty · 5 Comments

Not that our big national media giants will run with this story, but still..she is getting some American press just the same. The Murdoch-owned TimesOnline did a big writeup the beginning of January. Sirens’ posted an article by Lew at Unbrainwashed about this whistleblower back on January 10th.

Sibel is a former FBI Translator that has plenty of dirt on BushCo. Alternet has an interview with Ms. Edmonds here. The Blogosphere is rife with posts about Ms. Edmonds. If your unfamiliar with her story..shame on you. Henry Waxman promised her he would dig into it and hasn’t. From a National Review writeup on her:

But Congress has refused to act, and the Justice Department has shrouded Ms. Edmonds’ case in the state-secrets privilege, a rarely used measure so sweeping that it precludes even a closed hearing attended only by officials with top-secret security clearances. According to the Department of Justice, such an investigation “could reasonably be expected to cause serious damage to the foreign policy and national security of the United States.”

Ah yes..States Secrets Privilege..the bitch that keeps everything in the dark and hidden from public view. BushCo is the king that uses that card quite liberally for anything and everything.

I would like to suggest you read some of the links contained in this post, especially the recent interview at Alternet. Perhaps after BushCo leaves office we will get to the bottom of this smarmy bullshit..one can hope right? Because I don’t believe any of it will see the light of day while the Decider is still in office.

SIBEL SAYS

This insightful post comes from Lew, who’s blog Unbrainwashed is a great read and I encourage everyone to check it out-Dusty

Former FBI translator and whistle-blower Sibel Edmonds has released a list of photos of those she claims to have overheard in wiretapped conversations (that took place, coincidentally, before Bush’s illegal wiretapping program was put in place)of selling nuclear secrets to untrustworthy allies such as Pakistan. Many of the people involved were high ranking officials within the State Department during both the Clinton and Bush administrations and include the self proclaimed prince of darkness, Richard Perle. (Also named are Pentagon OSP Douglas Feith and convicted AIPAC spy Larry Franklin)
Ms. Edmonds has been under a gag order not to speak, because what she heard America’s national security would be severely impaired.

Edmonds contends that an international nuclear smuggling ring, associated with the intelligence agencies of Pakistan, Turkey, and Israel, has been permitted to operate in the U.S. with impunity. Our government, she claims, knew all about it yet, in order to placate the foreign governments involved, allowed a vast criminal enterprise to carry out its activities, including money laundering, narcotics trafficking, and espionage involving efforts to steal U.S. nuclear technology.
